Re: 2014 World Cup Qualifying Discussion
Germany beats Faroe Islands 3-0, Netherlands beat Turkey 2-0, France 1-0 Finland, England 5-0 Moldavia, Portugal 2-1 Luxemburg, Italy 2-2 Bulgaria.
Do you guys see one of the European(or South American) forces failing to get through the qualifying rounds? I see France, Portugal, and Italy needing the playoff rounds to get through. Would have to depend on matchups to predict which one would then fail. |

Germany with an undeserved 2-1 victory over Austria, Netherlands 4-1 Hungary, Italy 2-0 Malta. England 1-1 Ukraine thanks to a Lampard 87th minute PK, France 3-1 Belarus, Portugal 1-0 Azerbaidjan.

Re: 2014 World Cup Qualifying Discussion
For those who watch the German team enough, what do you think of making Reus our future starting striker, since Klose will be old for the WC and Gomez doesn't really fit. I was thinking of something like:
------------- Reus--------------- Götze---------Özil------------Müller or: ------------- Reus---------------- Özil----------Kroos-----------Götze or if not Podolski as striker? ------------ Podolski------------- Reus---------Özil-------------Götze |

Re: 2014 World Cup Qualifying Discussion
Reus or Poldolski is fine. I've never liked Poldi on that left wing, but he's been successful as a striker since leaving Bayern.
Also I wouldn't leave out Muller, I'd leave out Gotze. The AM line doesn't have anyone who works on defense otherwise. Poldi Reus-Ozil-Muller is probably the best they can throw out at this minute with Reus as the deputy at striker. Gomez also, of course. He's fine against smaller teams and in early rounds. |

Smh @ this.
Also smh @ the senior England team's game against Poland being called off, despite the stadium having a roof (they decided not to close).
