Western

The mighty Terriers hosted Western Carolina on Monday night. And what wonderful hosts we were with Western getting the win. They are a very good team with Kevin Martin leading the way with 33 points. Go ahead and give that man the SoCon Player of the year award. The Cat's play good team defense and shoot the ball extremely well. I look for them to make some noise in the north.

It looks like it could be an interesting season in the South. Seems like there is a lot of youth. I know that Wofford, Furman, and Davidson are dealing with some consistency issues because of their youth. Haven't had the oppurtunity to see any of the other teams play.

Looking forward to a great season.

Welcome to the site, ShortHairedDog.

Yes either Zakee Wadood, Ashley Champion or Kevin Martin is going to win the POY award.

I think it will be Wadood because ETSU will probably have the best record. I also think everyone should look out for Furman, as they seem to be really improving, evidenced by the fact that they lost to Ohio State on the road 70-68 in a game they could/should have won.

I don't think Furman will cause many problems. I think the Paladins and The Citadel will be fighting for the cellar in the South. That Ohio State team is not very good(Tony Stockman who was a middle of the road player at Clemson last year is their leading scorer). Furman plays a good High Point team this weekend. It will be interesting to see how that turns out. Wofford started their six game road trip with a humiliating loss to Florida A&M this past Wednesday. It is off to Vanderbilt on Saturday and then to Dayton and Minnesota before heading back South to begin divisional play at Ga. Southern. They have to get it together before the heavy dose of conference play begins.

Well, I was right about Ohio St as I saw they got blown away by a weak Seton Hall team this weekend, but I was very suprised to see Furman handle High Point. Seems like the Paladins might have some potential after all. Wofford is struggling and now have to go up to number 24 Dayton on 12/29. The Terriers have to stop the bleeding after taking another painfull blow, this time the strike came via Vanderbilt who defeated the Terriers by 31. I don't think the Flyers are going to give us the band aid we need right now.

Wofford needs a home game like I need a supermodel, pretty badly. They are not going to get right playing all these tough road games.
