Thoughts on Petro

What do Sonics fans think of Petro? His percentages have improved, along with points, but rebounds and blocks haven't gone anywhere. From what you've seen, has he improved much, and what do you think of him long-term?

To be perfectly honest the only positive thing to say about Petro's game is his 15footer is money everytime. As far as rebounding and blocked shots he still needs a considerable amount of work on. I think he needs to be on a team where he can play alot more because he is practically buried on the bench in Seattle.

Re: Thoughts on Petro

I love Petro's game. He's more consistent this year when his number is called. The talent is always there. I'd love to have him on my Bulls. Is Petro untouchable? You guys have three bigs with potential in Petro, Swift, and Sene. Which one of the three is the most likely to be available for trades?

Re: Thoughts on Petro

Petro untouchable? Are you sure we are looking at the same player?

From what I've seen, he has no impact on the court whatsoever. He bleeds mediocrity, and I want him off the team ASAP.

What games have you been watching, you'd want him on the bulls they would lose every game with him playing. I'm with Chan on this one you forget he is on the court...Once Sene comes back move him to the D-League as well.He had 4 fouls and 1pt in 6min of work that last game.

Re: Thoughts on Petro

Petro has been impressive to me so far. His offensive game is developing quite well considering his age and lack of play time. Given more play time to develop I think he could turn into quite the player.

Of the 3 I'd get rid of Sene first, Swift..I'd like to see him play next year considering he has missed this entire season. Depending on how he plays when he comes back it'd be a toss up between him and Petro for who I would get rid of next.

Petro's lack of PT is credited to his sucking. He has to earn it. And Sene going? He's still raw.

Playing time is a leading contributor to the way Petro has been playing recently of late, but you can also attribute it to the fact that his basketball knowledge isnt very high. I say this because for three nights in a row he's committing about 3 PF in the span of 5 or 6 minutes; which is the exact same reason Mo Sene is currently residing in the D-Leaugue right now.

With the way Collison has been playing as of late I really dont expect Johan to rebirth from his slump. If you look at it either he toughens up and considers Sikma's help to develop, or the Sonics trade him to a team where he can get the experience he needs.

Re: Thoughts on Petro

Well, if you can work a trade with Boston with Petro and 2nd rounders for Kendrick Perkins, it can be good for both teams. Perkins is no longer untouchable in Boston since Al Jefferson showed them that he can play C also. Boston can use AL at C and Petro at PF...

I'm not sure they'd do it value wise, but I like it. It's something for nothing.
