Lewis was going to sign with Orlando anyway. If Presti asked for two firsts or even one first rounder, Lewis would have signed there and Seattle would have gotten nothing.

Re: Another great trade for Seattle

Thomas will help teach the young bigs what it takes to be successful and effective in the NBA. He's a smart player and a great locker room presence and leader. He's been through everything and played against basically everyone. The Suns picks won't be high but Seattle will be drafting high and with the new 1 year rule the drafts will be deeper than they have been in past years. Great trade for Seattle, basically a salary dump for Phoenix, they probably have 1 maybe 2 more years of keeping that current core together and then Marion or Stoudamire will be gone and I'm not sure how much longer Nash can play like he is, especially without a backup. Phoenix's owner is terrified of paying the luxury tax so they traded away the only guy that would help get them closer to the max cap. Stupid move on their part. Although not surprising considering the way they have been selling picks the past few years.
