Another great trade for Seattle

I would back off Presti if I were you guys. He is building from the ground up and doing a great job of it too.

Re: Another great trade for Seattle

Yup. First you fleece Orlando, now Phoenix.
It's not like they'll be great picks, but hey, they'll be cheap players for 3 or 4 years.

Though why you took Thomas I don't know, you have Swift, Petro, Sene, Collison and Wilcox at the 4/5.

I think this is yet another cost-cutting move by the Suns. Let's face it, their owner (and possibly GM) sucks. They've given away several first rounders for cash, when they could have at least traded them for much-needed backups in the post.

The Suns get that trade exception though, so ye gotta think they might be making a big move soon..
(I doubt it, but it would be nice to hear about something interesting)

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?

Thomas expires at the end of the year, so he really doesn't matter. They took him to get the picks.

So basically they turned a free agent that they really shouldn't have gotten anything for into two first round picks. They will also have a lot of money to sign some quality free agents next season not to mention a really high draft pick.

When are the Orlando picks?
2009/2011?
So Seattle's looking to have 2 first rounders for the rest of the decade?

Question is, will their owner be paying to keep all these talents?
Apparantly they re-raised the issue of moving to Oklahoma, so you'd think lottery talents would help.
Maybe they'll make a competitive team out there.

Re: Another great trade for Seattle

That's a good deal there. Trading a trade exception and a second for an expiring and two firsts.

Presti knows what he's doing.

Re: Another great trade for Seattle

And Kurt Thomas will help more than you know since Seattle's young bigs are still making the transition to the NBA game.

Everybody won in this deal. Suns keep Marion, Seattle gets two firsts.

Exactly. Even if Kurt was a cuttable player its a good deal for the Sonics to pick up 2 first round picks. But Kurt provides toughness and interior D. Two things that the Sonics essentially have none of, and that you can't win jack **** in the NBA without. I'm loving Presti's moves. Personally, I divide the basketball stuff from the moving stuff. This team needed to be blown up and rebuilt and they are finally doing it. If ******* Howard Schultz had gone about rebuilding years ago instead of trying to hang on and win 40 or so games a year for the past 5 or 6 seasons, the team likely wouldn't be under the pressure they are in now wrt/ moving.
