Denver should be good
They got two of best recruits in Colorado this year, so they should have a pretty good team. I don't know if anyone cares, but oh well.

they still have TJ Billups too right. Or is the guy named BJ Pratt. I forget. They might win the Sunbelt this year.

Denver surprised a lot of people last year. I hope they can continue their success. I assure you ULL won't take them for granted again. I really enjoyed watching that game.

tough
Denver will be tough this year, one of the better teams in the West. They have some real talent coming back, including some beef up front.

It'd be nice if the Denver fans would jump on board. Basketball just isn't a big thing in Colorado.
I'd like to see Denver win the Sun Belt West. Of course, Western will four-peat the Sun Belt tournament. With ULL possibly having FOUR players ineligible for grades, the West is open for anyone. If Coach Lou at NMSU is in good health, they are always strong.

I don't think it is a given that WKU will four-peat. Of course, UL's eligibility problems have given them a big boost. But I really think Denver and USA are going to be better than anyone thinks. USA has tons of experience coming back. ASU had a really good recruiting class, if they can put it all together finally.

Don't know much about USA honestly. I know they didn't perform well at all in the tournament and I wasn't impressed with Phelprey's coaching at all.
ASU, I really hope they have a good year. Those fans deserve it. I'd say it will be another disappointment though. ASU is just riding out Dickie Nutt's contract. He'll be gone in 2 years and they will try to rebuild something great.
FIU played some good ball in the tournament last year. So did MTSU. MTSU lost some talent, and probably are a year away from a great season but Kermit is a good coach. I suspect they will be strong.

MTSU has some outstanding talent coming in, but they are going to be REALLY hurting for experience.

The bulk of what MTSU has are JUCOs and transfers.
Kermit is obviously building for quick success... probably so he can get a better job.

Little Rock has had reasonably good success with our jucos in the last few years. If you are careful, they can be a big plus. Isn't it amazing how much the pendulum has swung the juco direction just in the last few years?

Coming Year
The Only game USA played in the tourney went down to the last second and was a loss to MTSU. Although they did not play well, they should have beat the runner up. They are very capable of going a long ways in the west. I think they have a few players who will surprise along with Young, Bedden and Williams. Their freshman, Law, averaged 10 a game the last 8 that he got to start and dropped 14 on Miss. State. He would have alot more pub if he played for Wku. If he stays healthy, he and South Al. will be the surprise of the league. Denvers main advantage is Denver...it is hell to play in that altitude.

I remember that game against MTSU. West is going to be a tough division, with NMSU, ULL, Denver, and USA all getting better.
The east will once again be weaker, WKU and MTSU being the real threats.

I agree that the West will be the stronger division. At least three of the East teams will probably be somewhat down this season from last.

The east has not been really strong in a LONG time. Usually just a couple teams strong. It is what kills WKU and their RPI, playing some of these east teams twice.
