6-6 combo guard Jerry Nichols of Walters State (TN) CC was a second-team All-American as a freshman last season after averaging 23 points per game and led his team in assists. Nichols was also named the MVP of the NJCAA Regional Tournament and the conference player of the year. Nichols played at Memphis (MN) Westwood High and was the third-leading scorer in the city of Memphis as a senior. He won his team’s defensive player of the year award and also the team MVP.

Jerry Nichols enjoyed a terrific freshman year at Walters State C.C. in Tennessee during the 2001-2002 campaign. In fact, he was a major cog in the Senators' run to the NJCAA Tournament that season.

Injuries gutted Nichols' 2002-2003 season at Walters State, but the wiry combo guard should be one of the better perimeter prospects in the JC Class of 2004.

Nichols prepped at Memphis (TN) Westwood H.S. prior to enrolling at Walters State.
