As long as you have 3Us you're good. Unless you are planning on getting into something like engineering, or some program that is generally tough and requires 90's. Then they'll be looking for 4 or 5.

U-courses are University courses, C-courses are college, and M-courses are mixed, or good for both.
Example: calc is a U course but guitar is an M course.
By the way, what are your thoughts on taking a year off? Because I'm really considering it.

i don't think one year makes a difference, personally, but if you're like me and you want to get university done with as soon as possible then why bother take a year off? time is money, and i don't think high school is that stressful that you'd need to take a year off after you graduate. it's all up to you though. you're not the only person who takes a year off(im not encouraging you but it's true), and almost half of my peers are a year older than me because we have ppl who were OAC(grade 13). some people also change faculties because they decide they don't like what they're doing and basically have to start over from first year. being a couple years older than your peers is nothing special in uni, just don't waste your time.

As much as I hate high school and the idea of school in general, I wish we had OAC.... one more year of finding out what I want to do, one more year of no responsibility, and one more year of slacking off.

Hey guys, I am currently in my fifth year in high school and I am in the same boat as a lot of people. When my peers were applying to school I didn't know what I wanted, I had an idea but wasn't convinced that it would stay the same. A year later it is still the same. I stayed back for that reason, I wasn't POSITIVE about what I wanted to do. I did take all my hard classes, pre-requisites, blah blah blah and graduated last June. But now I am back at high school.
I too have a late birthday so I don't quite feel like Billy Madison yet. I also had to take into consideration sports. I stayed back to play sports, I of course play football and was set to play football until work made me quit.
Being in my fifth year with nothing really important to accomplish except win basketball is boring as hell. School sucks but I take Co-op at a newspaper because that's roughly what I want to pursue. On top of that I have the classes that I actually WILL use like foods and construction, and just for fun I have guitar.
If you aren't certain about what you want to do in university and don't mind staying back I say go for it. You can always pick up co-op or some valuable courses that will help you later on in life. It will feel no-fun when all of your friends are going away but it gets better and it's better than guessing at a program that you might turn out to hate like a few people I know.

Yea I'm in my 5th year of hs too, its well worth it I believe, if you are willing to put effort into your classes. I stayed behind to finish my immersion program, which I hate, but I've also bumped my MU average to the borderline 90s now by just finding the easiest univ courses my school offers.. I also have used the year to get involved in all the school organizations and whatnot instead of teams.. I didn't have time to play sports and work hard in school so I decided 4 years of sports was enough for me. It seems schools and scholarships really look at your community involvement and leadership experiences, so it would be nice to have things to include there.
A lot of my friends stayed back an extra year, but each one of them eventually dropped out seeing as they saw no point to doing extra courses.. It feels strange being in school again; doesn't help that my school is quite strange.. I just keep focused while trying to have some fun without forgetting my main goals.
If you want to increase your overall average for scholarships/admittance into university, I'd highly recommend staying an extra year. It can be hard to motivate yourself to do so, but I feel that it could be worth it. Especially if you apply for a bunch of scholarships.. winning money for working hard sounds good to me.. (although I don't know if I won any yet heh..)

well, maybe some of them aren't forced. i took some AP courses because i thought they would help me in uni, and they did. high school was a bit too.. laid back, especially without AP. i'm so much better off in uni now because i challenged myself in high school.

Depends on your situation.
Money? Do you work, can you goof off? Could you take a trip on your own to "find yourself"
I took my trip after I graduated University, not highschool.
Just me, I would have a tough time getting back to school work, studying and deadlines especially at the higher, yet unknown uni level.
My friend took a whole year off after Uni then went to Europe for his Masters.
From our experience I would take that year after Uni. There will be a big adjustment as it is between HS and Uni. If you do Post grad stuff, the jump will be less and the year off will be really welcome after 4 years of hard work.
Uni graduation feels way better than HS grad.
