Re: OT: Is Hockey Back? Mabey

The NHL season is expected to be "un-canceled" Saturday in New York.
A player close to the talks who asked to remain anonymous told The Hockey News the two sides have agreed to a deal in principle that features a $45-million salary cap. Asked if there was any way a deal won't get done, the player said,
"not that I can see. I couldn't possibly imagine the idea that somebody is going to try to make a name for themselves in the last minute here."
Following two days of media speculation that backroom talks between players and owners were taking place in an attempt to "un-cancel" the 2004-05 season, the NHL Players' Association issued a press release Friday night confirming it would be meeting with the league in New York on Saturday. If the two sides are as close as expected, an agreement in principle could be made public tomorrow.

Re: OT: Is Hockey Back? Mabey
28-game season plus a playoffs. Even if it is a product of incompetancy, it will still make for a damn pretty exciting season. Every game will be worth so much.

Re: OT: Is Hockey Back? Mabey
I will take 28 games plus playoffs. Better than nothing. Go Red Wings!!! (yes I realize I said this on a Toronto board)
And who is one of the players to have ressurected this? My boy - The Mayor of Hockey-Town - Steve Yzerman

Yeah but I was watching ESPN and they said that Stevie was also in the process.
Step 1. Get hockey season going again
Step 2. Get rid of Bettman's stupid ***
Step 3. Get rid of Goodenow's stupid ***

Re: OT: Is Hockey Back? Mabey
I think we should remember that hockey isn't actually back yet, and just because Wayne and Mario are involved tomorrow doesn't mean it will be fixed.
Why didn't those two get involved months ago?

that is why i was pissed at the players. waiting until after the 11th hour, as they say on espn, to decide on a cap gestimate. highly pissed me off. they couldn't propose this back in november. just a waste of time all this waiting.

Re: OT: Is Hockey Back? Mabey
No please no.
A 28 game season would be only set out to make some of the money that they have lost with this lockout.
Just fix the game, and come back next year and start it the real way, not like this.
