OT: ACC to undergo $40-million renovation

TORONTO (CP) - Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is planning a $40-million renovation of the Air Canada Centre in conjunction with the building's 10-year anniversary in 2009, according to a report.
The ACC is the home of the NHL's Maple Leafs and the NBA's Toronto Raptors.
Construction will begin in the summer 2008, executive vice-president and general manager Bob Hunter told Street and Smith's SportsBusiness Journal in Monday's edition.
"It's going to be similar to what Portland, Detroit and Phoenix are doing, but it will focus as much on public amenities as premium," Hunter said.
The privately financed Air Canada Centre opened in February 1999 at a cost of $265 million
