i wouldn't be opposed to that idea of the finals match!
FYI jamal crawford and bench players are available for some defensive help.

you've solved your PG problem, but now you have one of the worst defenses in the league. Ridnour, Harrington and Crawford are not good defenders. You have no players over 6-10. Yes your team can run now, but I'm not sure if you have enough offensive firepower to score 110 points game to make up for all the points you're going to be giving up. Al is an average defender at SF, and probably a below-average defender at PF. Yes, he can start at PF, but he is not the greatest defender there. The reason why Indiana might still start Al at PF this year is because they have JO. Your team is going to depend a lot on Amare's health. Either way, you won't be able to win just on your scoring, you're going to have to find some way to play at least some defense. As you know, defense wins championships. And if you were to play a team with a premier big man, like Duncan, Yao, Shaq, JO, KG, Dirk, you won't have much of a chance stopping them. Amare can hold his ground against some of the centers but he is not superman and he will be worn down a lot if he doesn't have an adequate backup (doesn't seem like you'll get one if you dont pull of a trade).

Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
i think griffin is underrated in his ability to play center, like he does alongside garnett, i think he'll have a better season after vision correction surgery, amare says he'll be an all-star and will probably have added strength to make up for his knee, donyell & al are smaller but they can hold it down for me i think. i am looking to make a deal for a more defense oriented player, jamal crawford is my main offering piece.
get at me if you need a clutch gunner.

What do YOU think of your team?
I don't know how you did it in a draft this size, but you've got some great depth so far. Simmons and Mobley could start for plenty of teams, and Payton showed last year he's got some gas left in his tank to play spot back-up minutes and stick jumpers. I'm not hugely impressed with either Dampier or Gasol, but I think they actually might be a decent fit together. You need a good reserve big man who can take up space when Dampier gets in foul trouble or his brain goes on vacation, but he's a better rebounder, defender and strong man than most of the big men Gasol has had an opportunity to play alongside.
I'm not sure you can be a contender without a drop-dead scoring machine in this league, but I'd say you're at minimum a spoiler team in the playoffs.
One slight wrinkle is that you don't have a PG who's a stud at setting up teammates (I think both Damon and Gary tend to look for their own shot first at this stage in their careers), and the rest of your players (Kirilenko, as a notable example) aren't great at creating their own shots. But you've got enough talent on your roster that you might be able to leverage a trade that helps you with either aspect of that.
Also, Gasol has developed into enough of an offensive threat and an adept enough passer that I can see him creating a lot of open looks for your better shooters, like Peterson and Simmons.
