Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
my top 10 is complete, rounded off with a steal at 10, a starter for 5th off the bench. defensive lock-down type player, with good instincts and rebounding, avg. 9.2pts for last season.
C: Amare Stoudemire/Eddie Griffin
PF: Al Harrington/Donyell Marshall
SF: Josh Howard/Trenton Hassell
SG: Jamal Crawford/Salim Stoudamire
PG: Luke Ridnour/Bobby Jackson
very strong starting 5, very very strong bench.

Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
My team is now complete.
Toronto Raptors GM Draft (New Jersey Nets)
PG: Gilbert Arenas/Anthony Johnson/Tony Allen
SG: Raja Bell/Mickael Pietrus/Tony Allen
SF: Gerald Wallace/Matt Harpring
PF Darko Milicic/Sean May/Tony Battie
C: Jamaal Magloire/LaMarcus Aldridge/Tony Battie
Johnson, Pietrus, Harpring, May, Aldridge (with Allen and Battie) is most likely the best bench in this league.
I've got a well built starting linep with four players that complement Gilbert very well. Arenas is easily my go-to scorer, and the guy with the ball in the clutch. Raja is there for outside shooting and defense. Gerald Wallace will play off-the ball with his athletisim, and will be a great help defender. Darko should finally reach his potential this year. He is my number 1 option in the post. Magloire will do all the dirty work.
Any thoughts?

I think this is about the third time Tony Allen has been selected. Are you sure he's still available?

Willing to trade Paul Pierce. Only send serious offers, and something of my All-Stars value.

Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
I can't tell whether I'm intrigued by my team or embarrassed by it (see lineup in signature).
The closest analogue in today's NBA is the Nets, although Nash is a much superior shooter and inferior defender compared to Kidd. Brezec is my Krstic, and Evans is my Collins (a better rebounder, but less size to throw around on defense). I've got 5 legitimate three-point threats so far, so my game has got to be run-and-gun and stop-and-pop.
Jefferson and Patterson are good defenders on the perimeter and George and Redd are underrated, but my bigs aren't stoppers. I have no illusions about the Suns' ability to defend in the half court with my current lineup, so barring a major trade, we'll just aim to run everyone into the ground.

im thinking you over emphasized the best bench in the league, of course your gonna think it is because it's your own team. In reality i think southeasy, or I have the best bench. In my own opinion the only bench players that are actually good on your squad are alridge (dont know how he'll play) and pietrus, my man from france. Harpring is injury prone and you make it seem like he's micheal jordan by praising the man. Your starting lineup is pretty good by the way just need another shooter on your team other than arenas, bell, and pietrus.
that's my opinion

PG: Jason Kidd | Charlie Bell
SG: Eddie Jones | Marquis Daniels
SF: Shane Battier
PF: Emeka Okafor | Melvin Ely
C: Channing Frye | Jackie Butler | Jason Collins
I'm pretty confident with my team..they can play DEFENSE....scoring might be my weakness but I don't think it is that weak..I got two young good post players in Frye and Okafor with Butler and Ely off the bench...I can still find a quality backup swingman in the later rounds....
