Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
Even though I havent completed my roster, I do have the best bench production so far. Got defense and instant offense with enough depth

Re: Raptors Forum GM Draft Discussion Thread
funny how all of you people who claim you have the best bench only have 5 players on your bench. what happens if one of those guys get injured?

your bench sucks!! It has players who can't stay healty. May was injured most of last season, Aldrige is already starting out his season injured, and even Harpring and Pietrius has been injured. Plus your bench has two players that have already been injured for a good period of time, and hasn't played 2 full seasons yet.

ok whatever you say
if you really think
Calderon, Ross, Williams, Petro, 10th, 10th, 11th
is better than
Johnson, Pietrus, Harpring, Aldridge, May, Battie, Allen
than I really cannot help you.
Its not like I am relying on my bench to play huge minutes. I have a good enough starting lineup. Harpring has played 70+ games the past two years which is more than Quinton Ross. Not to mention that Ross is nothing compared to Matt Harpring.
Shelden Williams and Johan Petro? You use the 'unproven' excuse on my big men, yet you have two more unproven big men? I would take LaMarcus Aldridge and Sean May over those two any day. And the reason why I got Tony Battie was that he is a steady veteran who will fill in for Aldridge and May if they get injured.
Calderon vs Anthony Johnson. Calderon's the better passer. AJ is far superior in everything else.
Then we have a 10th, 10th and 11th vs Allen, Battie and Pietrus. I'm not even going to comment on this.
No, my bench doesn't suck at all. If some people think their bench is better than mine, thats fine as long as their benches are remotely comparable with mine. Your bench is certainly not. And your bench certainly does suck.

This is a close matchup. Obviously we took players for our different reasons. My bench is probably better for the future, but our benches are relatively the same talent-wise right now. I am unsure of Aldridge/May/Pietrus' potential right now. However, you do have Damien Wilkins who I love, and I think he is going to be a very good player in the future.

same with iatlhawksfan
how can you say you have the best bench production with only 4 players on your bench? How can you say you have good depth?
G/F: Quentin Richardson
F/C: Raef LaFrentz
G: Damon Jones
C: Adonal Foyle
Interesting bunch. I know salaries mean nothing, but thats thats the first thing that came to mind.
Anyhow, I honestly don't see your bench as a force at all. Q-Rich can shoot threes, but outside of that you don't have much. You have another 3 point shooter in Damon Jones (who did shoot terribly last year). LaFrentz is done. And Foyle? well he doesnt seem to be getting any better. He'll get a couple rebounds and a block a shot per game...but there are a lot of players in the league who can do that.
Your bench doesn't have much potential for the future at all. You have 3 spot up shooters, and one guy who only knows how to block shots and doesn't do anything else.
Having said that all that, you don't need a bench. Why don't you talk about how you have Pierce and Wade instead? Why are you saying you have the best bench? Why do you need to have the best bench? Why do you WANT to have the best bench?
