is there a more fitting event for the best city in the world? this is going to be a very exciting time (decades) for vancouver and i'm ecstatic to be a part of it.

i dunno what the big deal is... who cares about the olympics.. They're lame and a waste of city dollars.. I see these kids on tv 16-17-15 years old with paint on there face chearing.. why the **** would they care if we get the olympics or not?? I'm clad that toronto won't get the olympics anytime soon..

lol, did any1 see how they brought the envelope to the podium to announce tha winner?, this dude carefully put it on a pillow, carried by some euro chick dressed in chinese new years clothes, and walks like shez goin up an altar, and stands there lookin like shez about to be knighted by tha queen, wttfffff, jus tell us who got the olympics n let it go,.......dayum

i was kinda hoping they wouldnt get it so Toronto would have a shot at 2012, but oh well its all good, at least Canada got a games.....

do you have any idea of the size of the revenue streams coming into vancouver because of the games? they're monumental. if you can't get excited about the olympics, i feel a little sorry for you

oh yeah, and just because we don't know the names of many asian cities doesn't mean they aren't amazing. vancouver a joke? that's just ignorant- it was ranked the number one city in the world to live in and that's no joke. i feel blessed to live here.

I'm pretty sure Athens, Greece has it for 2004 and Turin, Italy (I think) has it for 2006.

I dont really care for the Olympics either but the Olympic hockey in 2010 will be awsome...Hockey may not be ur favourite sport (its not mine either) but u have to admit that everyone was a hockey fan when Canada won the gold at Salt Lake...
Thats all I'm looking forward to in 2010....
