Yeah true.
If all that curse stuff is true can't I just take a goat to yankee stadium, get kicked out and then curse the Yankees forever? And you think they'll actually never win another world series even if I do? Yeah ookie.

depending how much one believes in the supernatural, that curse may be real or not.
personally, i'd rather put the word 'choke' than 'curse'

Just cause a guy caught a ball ( which any of us would do the same thing) the fans there think that the curse is continuing and what not.
Alou wouldn't of caught that ball anyway. And, they lost cause of Gonzalez, and cause Dusty Baker doesn't know when to take out his pitchers.
They just need something to blame everything on, so they can assure themselves that they could of won.

uhhh yes he would have. You can see in the replay that the ball was literally a couple inches from his open glove when the fan batted it away.
the rest of your post is spot on, though (and I'm a cubs fan). The error cost us a lot more than the fan, and Prior started to deteriorate and lose his cool, and then he hung a bunch of breaking balls right over the plate. And then Farnsworth came in to face a great fastball-hitter . result? bases-clearing double and more curse talk.
not to mention that Kerry Wood simply didn't have it in game 7. He said himself that he choked. 6 runs is usually enough to win when Kerry pitches, but not this time and not against the Marlins.
at first I was furious and then depressed but today I realized, hey, this is the cubs - what did I expect?
