note though that the gameplay is much different from 2K3. it's extra hard to spin past defenders, and you're more vulnerable to blocks

Good. The harder the better. I am fearing that when I sit down to play 2K4 for the first time I will crush the other team by 45 like I do in 2K3.

My 2k series began with NBA 2K for the Dreamcast. I then got NBA 2K2 for the Dreamcast as a gift. I went on to get a PS2, and get NBA 2K2, NBA 2K3, and soon to be 2K4.  |

do u guys remember when nba live the old ones, had hot streaks and cold streaks. man why dont they have them in there as well as progress. Sometimes cold streakin players would be traded for less value hot streakers for instant success, if u needed it. Say to get into playoffs.
It added a much more realistic side to the game, especially in the playoffs, if a player would step it up and go on a hot streak u might cause an upset!!
bring back the streaks i say.

they have that in ESPN and in NBA 2K3, you can check the status of a specific player in the lineup screen after you press pause.
it is a sweet feature and implimented properly so that it doesn't create players who are "on fire" as in nba jam.
note: i haven't played ESPN yet but i am assuming it's in the game since it was in last years game.
