Uhh ok... Lilly played fine in the playoffs, and we need help with pitching, plus I was never a fan of Kielty's anyway. Except that time he hit the game winner for us. That was good.

i was really pissed that all we got for Shannon (who ended up being 4th in MVP balloting) was Kielty. i was hoping to get a pitcher, but it worked out in the end.
JP Ricciardi is GOD

Yeah the Jays wanted a pitcher but couldn't get one. And as much as I love Stewart - who was my favourite Jay when he was with us - he wouldn't have been 4th on all star balloting if he was with us. Not that Kielty would have been 4th in all star balloting if he was still with the Twins either...

Kielty is a pretty young talent..i liked him a lot. We already have a pretty solid outfield without him tho and pitching was definitely a need....good trade
but the trade is really...
toronto gets:
Ted Lilly
oaklanf gets:
kielty
player to be named later

This is a pretty good trade for Toronto. They get a pretty good starter in Lilly who will probably slot in somewhere like 2 or 3 of the rotation and hopefully give Toronto a decent pitching staff. Kielty was not a bad player but with Wells, Cattalanato and Johnson pretty much guaranteed jobs for next year and Gross and Rios in Triple A next year the Jays are pretty set in the outfield.
