What about Reef ?
Reef is a forgotten commodity in Portland and I read somthing on realgm that the nets are after him. He's not very valuable in Portland with Zach Randolph leading the way ... why not make a run at him for vince?
Is that totally unreasonable ?
I like reefs game ... he is quiet, clutch, and gets the job done ?
Any comments ?

Reef isn't clutch. He's the exact opposite of clutch. He's such a poor player in the dying minutes of a game, he's gone to see a sports psychologist to try to determine why he is so terrible when the game is on the line. He is a shadow out there in the last minute or two.
And he plays power forward or sometimes small forward. Not a position we are desperate to fill.

The rumored deal with the Nets is Kittles and Aaron Williams for Rahim -- that should give you an indicator as to what his value is. For those still not sure, there's no way a Rahim for Carter base should even be discussed, especially when your young up and comer is already a PF.

It would be good to get SAR, but his contract is expiring and that is totally useless to the Raps. And he prolly wouldn't resign in Tor for a good amount, so its not worth giving up talent.

His track record in Vancouver and Atlanta proves his true worth. Don't ya think.
7 seasons as a go-to guy and not one playoff appearance.

We already have a 'tweener and what BUTR showed is exactly why I wouldn't want him on my team.

Because Shareef plays the PF position and we already have Bosh and Marshall playing that. And Shareef is terrible down the stretch of games.

UH wrong. If that was an "indication" of SAR worth then the deal would have been done by now. It may be what NJ is offering, but POR isn't biting on it, but NJ keeps coming back to the well on it, & keeps getting refused BY POR.
That isn't an indication of SAR worth at all, all it is is an indication of what teams LOWBALLING POR are offering, nothing more. WHEN SAR is traded THEN we will see what his worth is. My bet is it will be more than that garbage NJ is offering.

Try and see if Portland takes Rose.
Rose is ten time better than Kittles and AWill, imo.
I'd do it simply to get rid of Rose's contract. Reef's more valuable than you think. He is 14.5mil or so coming off the books. Not just that, this guy is not some banged up injury prone old man, he can actually play and is still young at 27. He is just about to reach his prime, and if we can get him maybe he'll sign with us for cheap next year.
Yea, we already have PF's in Bosh and Marshall, but he is another 20/10 guy. Bosh and Marshall are all versatile anyway, as Bosh can play the 5, Marshall play the 3. It doesn't hurt to be deep. Just look at Detroit with Wallacex2, Cambell, Darko, McDyees!! We aren't anything close to that so who are we to say we already have too many big man?

No we need a consistent player or 2 decent ones in return for Vince.
I think Quentin Richardson 2003-04
Statistics
PPG 17.2
RPG 6.40
APG 2.1
EFF + 14.20
and perhaps Chris Wilcox would be fair market value for Vince.
2003-04
Statistics
PPG 8.6
RPG 4.70
APG .8
EFF + 9.69
Only thing I don't like with Wilcox is his size is 6"10 but only 230.
not much difference there between him and Moiso.
I like Richardson's upside to aqquire him it could involve a sign and trade, but if he accepts the qualifying offer it might not.
I think a 3 way would be neaded where we ship Wilcox him for a bigger C, such as Tony Battie, Elden Campell, Nazr Muhammad.

Wilcox is a great athlete he can guard most of the Centers and Moiso is more PF only,

Thanks ... I just thought that we could do well with a large SF if we were losing vince for certain. We don't want someone who will overshadow Bosh because we want bosh to take this team over. Reef has the potential to be a 20/10 guy for another couple of years. We have Rose Skip and Awill in the backcourt ... we're most likely to lose MoPete ... I don't know I have always had a soft spot for Reef.
Thanks for the opinions

That's fine. I don't think any of us would mind having another good player on the team, but he just doesn't really fit with what we already have. As a second or third option Reef could be very effective, but teams expecting primary numbers from him tend to be disappointed. And because he only has one year left on his contract, he wouldn't be a long-term goal type of player. Just a patch.

SAR would be great second option. And the Raps dont need to trade VC for him.
Trade Marshall, Murray and filler for him.
But that's useless since his contract is expiring and he wont resign for a great deal. And Por wont trade hi | |
