Carter returns from honeymoon and says....

Sportsnet.ca is the souce

Vince Carter says suggestions he is unhappy as a Toronto Raptor aren't coming from him.

But on Monday, the Raptors star wouldn't come out and say he wants to stay in Toronto. When the issue of his future with the team was raised, he said he didn't want to go into it.

Carter was appearing at his annual basketball camp for local youths.

There have been reports that the high-flying Carter wants to be traded by Toronto, suggesting he is unhappy with the team's management and prospects. New York has been raised as one possible destination.

He is trying to have it both ways. He wants to be the good guy and get out.

I wish a GM would actually step up with solid offer of youth to get him his wish, but I fear they are all lowballing right now.

I agree - it possible that someone other than him is leaking the news, but if thats the case then come out and deny it. You can't say "I've never said I want out of Toronto" and then when asked well do you want out say "no comment".

He probably is just protecting his ego - say he came out and said he really wanted to stay and then the perfect deal came up, and he was shipped out, he'd look like a fool. Adn you're right he can't say he wants out until after the charity game .

He's obviously frustrated and exhausted. 2 losing seasons can do that to you. So many players demand to be traded after their team fail to make the playoffs ONCE(ie T-Mac).

He obviously wants to be traded. Nobody wants to be on a losing team. But at the same time he doesn't want to say anything that will hurt the fans or anything that he will regret. He knows how much he means to basketball in Canada.

I don't think he's even made up his mind about leaving yet. It's a tougher decision than you think. He can quit on the raptors and go to a winning team, or he can suck it up and help this young team develop and try to carry the team into the playoffs again.
