Matt Boner
Full Story
Quote:
When Matt Bonner's dream job came calling, not even lucrative contract offers in Europe that could have set him up financially for life were enough to lure him away.
Tomorrow, Bonner will sign a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Toronto Raptors, moving him to the brink of becoming just the second New Hampshire native to play in the NBA. Portsmouth's Jeff Cross, drafted out of the University of Maine, played 21 games for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 1985-86 season...

The Raptors could use Bonner, he is a very good big-man shooter. In regards to his defense, however, he has a lot of work to do.
PS: I'm not sure whether it is intentional or not, but Matt BONER = Brilliant!

I am surprised that it came so early. I thought the Raps would go through the process of signing the best player out of Pape Sow, Matt Bonner, and Ousmane Cisse.

Its a non-gaurantied contract, like the one Loren Woods has. I believe that means TO can just cancel the contracts if they don't make the team. I'm not sure the advantage of inking these now, as opposed to training camp when they make the team.

You were right.
They just did.
Sow is clearly not ready, and Cisse likely never will be.

YEah thats some good motivation - for Bonner and Woods its that the can see the contract hanging there, they just have to make the team. For the other camp hopefulls like Sow its proof that they are already behind these 2 and they had better bring it at camp. Sow is going to have to make TO cancel those contracts to make the team.
