Re: Bonner contract
This guy kinda of reminds me of Croshere. Trust me 6-8 mill over 3 years is good for a player like Bonner. But you guys are overrating him.

Re: Bonner contract
I agree with 6-8 mil over the next 3 years...he's a good bench player who provides hustle and instant offense when given looks plus he seems to be a good person for the community (ala JYD)...hopefully over the offseason he improves a bit on things like defense and rebounding since this is really his rookie season in the NBA...
plus add the fact that he'll be our replacement for Donyell, a guy who can spread out an interior defense by bringing defenders out from inside to cover his outside shot, and he'll be one of the more important tasks over the offseason...his outside jumper and range allows Bosh more room to work one-on-one with his defender and draw fouls to get to the line without having to worry about help defense....

Because the point was that we'll give him around an $8 million deal for 3 years, and I think he'll get an offer better than 3 years/$5 million somewhere else. But anyway... it seems like most ppl are saying 3 years/$6-8 million anyway, which is what I said.

The hell is wrong with you? First off I was messing around... get the smilies? And secondly what does my age have to do with anything?
Anyway you can't seem to understand that my point is you're underrating his market value, not what he should get or what he'll try to get, but what he WILL get. Get it straight buddy. I'm done with this.

Re: Bonner contract
Quick Note. Brian Cardinal, who I view as a player of comparable skill and ability as Bonner got $38 Million from the Grizzlies. Now, I'm not saying that Bonner will too, but theres a chance that there is a team as crazy as the Grizzlies were this off-season.

Dude, how exactly do you know what Matt Bonner will get in off season? Sure 6-8million sounds fair but all I was saying that with the money Babcock just saved from not trading Marshall it should go towards resigning Bonner.
And if you can see into the future please tell me the winning Lotto Numbers to the Super 7 and Lotto 649.

Thats because they were stupid and gave him the full MLE over 4-6 years. That was a horrible move, and hopefully TOR isn't stupid enough to do that.

Re: Bonner contract
And Scott Padgett is getting 3.6M over 2.
And Scalabrine is getting 1.7 over 2.
Pat Garrity 15 over 5 or 6.
Medvedenko is getting 6 over 2 from the Lakers.
Doleac 11 over 4.
If I was Babs, I would ask Bonner how many years he wanted.
I would guess that a 10M payday over 5 years would be interesting, never having to worry about money again....
It is hard to say where Bonner will end up. He might not get much better than he is now, he already seems to be very aware of his abilities and roles. Who thinks he can be a good starter in the NBA?
But I'm confident he will always work hard and always have a good attitude, so I'm not worried about signing himm up long term.
But I'd tell him that if he wanted a 2 year contract so that he could check the market again that we respect him enough to give him that, as well.
