Jalen for Penny is still out there. Someone is going to want E.Will (aren't they? I think so, but who knows) Lammond could get us a useless contract thats a year longer and comes with a pick or something. Maybe one of our picks will even get moved.

I think something big(ish) is coming. Rob seriously needs some rep points right about now
I personally don't think that we should make a trade just for the sake of trading. I could be wrong, but I don't see Babcock making a bold move just to surprise or go against what the media expects of him.

I agree that patience is needed, but I get sick of waiting sometimes. And just from a personal viewpoint, Babcock gives me no hope. I still hold some hope for Mitchell. I think that he means well, it's just he may be doing certain things wrong. I like the way he challenges his players by punishing them or benching them and what not. But there has to be some give somewhere. All of the great coaches don't always get things their way, but they have some give. You have to sort of give the players their way sometimes. None of us are certain what the behind the scenes problems exactly are, with Rafer, Jalen, Mo Pete, etc, but I have a feeling they could have been corrected if Sam just said, " Ok fine you can do that, but you've got to do this better."

As for Babcock, I guess I may be jumping the gun a bit. If he has a good draft this year, I will gladly forget about this year. And as for Araujo, he looks as though he may be one of the least talented players in the league.

Re: Imperative

yeah you guys are probably right. Hope so anywyas

I'm just sorta thinking out loud lol

but I am getting a little paranoid we're going to see some Grunwald-esque moves to keep Bosh happy. Especially if Bosh's agent is barking in the collective ear of MLSE all summer

I know what you mean. Some of those moves to keep Carter happy turned out to be terrible. Bosh doesn't seem like the guy that will be making demands like Carter did though. As long as they don't offer 6 yr 50 mil deals to Pape and Bonner, I'll be happy.

Re: Imperative

My take on the offseason is this:

1. Raptors promote Wayne Embry and he gets more say in the team, basically co gm with babcock (without the title)

2.Richard Peddie is fired

3. Raptors take a pg or off gurad with first pick.

4. Draft a centre (Petro mabye) with second pick, surprise people.

5. Eric Williams and Murray are dealt for a a young wing player (draftee mabye)

6. Cook is signd for a min contract

Thats what I think at least.

I also mentioned this prior but the raptors should sign Jackie Butler, after I potsted the knicks signed him and he's only played like 6 minutes... But I saw him for 2 minutes and he went 2 for 2 with nice post moves.

Re: Imperative

There is not much the Raps can do with the current makeup of the team, other then make good draft choices. At the end of the day that is a key.

The one trade I would do, that I beleive is feasable:

Lamond Murray
Alvin Williams
Loren Woods
(all expiring contracts in 2006)

for

useless contract expiring in 2007
first round draft pick (likely 20+) or young player or two.

Why is this trade possible?

Were going to be over the cap until we get rid of Rose, who is hard to get rid of in this current environment. So why not take on salary for two years instead of one. If there is value (in terms of youth or picks) the past deadline showed that it can be obtained by taking on a longer contract. Another team could be willing to do that trade to get under the cap in the 2006 offseason rather then the 2007 offseason.

I think it is a realistic and way to make the team better in 2007/2008 which has to be the goal of this offseason.

doing that would indicate that hoffa will not pan out as planned.

I still believe that Hoffa will pan out at best, a guy coming off the bench for some nba team.

nice idea but AW only expires next year if he's retiring.

Or we could wait for Magloire in 2007... the same year Rose's contract comes off the books. I just think we have bigger needs to fill through drafting at the wings than we do at center.
