Toronto Sun: ACC Is Ready--Just In Case
Quote:
"We'll likely redistribute some of our security personnel to around the New Jersey (Nets) bench," he said. "But keep in mind that security measures thoughout the league changed after the Pistons-Pacers incident early in the season," Hunter said.
"The NBA's code of conduct for fans is posted at almost every gate. Besides, we believe our fans follow the highest level of decorum. And if there is the odd issue, we would not tolerate any abuse of a visiting team."

The ACC always has top notch security for Raptors games.
It's expected that they'll have to make some adjustments to tomorrow's game, just to be in the safe side, but I'm not expecting any problems.

I'm expecting alot of booing, and taunts but nothing physical.
I just hope in the heat of the moment that a scattering of fans do not boo the American anthem. It certainly is possible in tomorrow's heated up atmosphere, and it would be unfortunate.

I agree. Fans need to realize that this is just professional sports, and they shouldn't blow it out of proportion.

I don't see that happening. One time in Montreal was enough to encourage most fans at Canadian NHL games to cheer the American ovation in response this past season, so I doubt those same fans would suddenly do a 180.
Besides, the us-against-them culture of the NHL isn't the same as the NBA. We don't even have one Canadian on the Raptors.

Re: Toronto Sun: ACC Is Ready--Just In Case
It's happened more then one time, and its happened with Raptors fans. (although provoked by Pistons fans)
Remember in 2002 playoffs, when Vancouver hockey fans did it (when they were playing the Wings), and then the Pistons fans responded, and then the Raptos fans responded.
