Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
Absolutely. There's little doubt in my mind that the triumverate of Darko, Bosh, and Hoffa would become the best frontcout in the league within a few years' time. They would do a lot of losing and learning to begin with...or maybe they'd suprise everyone, who knows but in time they would be dominant. The 7th pick wouldn't pry darko from dumars but I would certainly do it.

Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
Has anyone here actually seen anything positive from Darko or are you just spewing #2 hype that should be long dead?
He is the same player he was last year and is the same player I saw dink a dunk of the front of the rim with absolutely no one near him.
7 for a bust worse than Skita. No _______ way!

He could be a bust, but I don't think he's had an opportunity to prove it.

Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
While I don't believe Darko has done anything to gain any credibility or respect as an NBA player in his first two years, I do have confidence in Joe Dumars as a talent evaluator, to at least give Darko time before he gets labeled a bust
Now having said that, I think Darko is a HUGE question mark, and would be a huge gamble on the Raptors part. I don't think that would be a good move for this franchise. If we had to choose between project centers I would even lean towards selecting Andrew Bynum with #7, over Darko.

Ya, I remember that time Jordan was on a break all by himself and threw it off of the back iron, he was a bust!!!!!!
We have not seen enough of Darko to see how good or how bad he realy is, all his minutes come in the 4th quarter with under 2 minutes to go, give him some first half minutes with other starters and see what he is made of.
I woudl risk the trade if we were to have a workout with Darko, iimpossible I know, but it would help to make a choice off is he worth it or not.

Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
No way.... Darko has done very little to impress me when I have seen him play, if he was so hungry to play he would have stepped up in his limited role and in the weight room. I had high hopes for this guy but I have to say he will be average at best. Anyone remember Zan?
Peace

not to mention scrimmages where he could have at least had a chance to show he deserves some burn during real games

Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
Minutes
36.1 ~ Ben Wallace
34.0 ~ Rasheed Wallace
23.3 ~ Antonio McDyess
= 93.4
Total minutes at the 4 & 5 per game: 96
There is no time for Darko, whether he "earns" it or not. And I'm not sure how you can earn playing time in the weight room, either.

Re: Would You guys be willing to trade #7 for Darko?
^ McDyess's minutes could have been Darko's this year if management fealt he could be realiable enough. So, when it comes down to it, Detroit had more confidence in a guy who hasn't had a productive season in 4-5 years with knee problems, not to promising for Darko
I thought it was Darko's time when Okur left, but Detroit didn't. Either way, I don't buy the, Darko ain't getting time to prove himself line. Darko would have benefited from a farm team system that they were talking in the new CBA, so at least he would get to suck, and get better!!!!!!!

McDyess played great this year, though. I don't think a team with championship aspirations would be willing to sit a reliably productive player in order to give minutes to a rookie (which he basically still is), even if he worked hard in practice and whatnot.

That part is a matter of opinion, so you certainly could be right. He might never be a good pro. I just don't think he's determined that one way or the other, yet.

I'm not talking about getting high above the rim and bouncing off the back because you threw it down too hard. I mean someone finds you open under the basket and you reach up with one hand jumping to dunk and can't get over the rim dinking it off the side for embarrassment. If you can't see the difference between those 2 misses then well... I don't know what to say.
More to the point, this is the only highlight/lowlight I can remember about Darko, which was my point. How many are their for MJ? Not a good comparison, Bill.
Did Michael Bradley get a chance to make the Raps, prove himself? Every other raptor. How about the millions of debates over Moiso,
"He never gets a chance to prove himself!"
These guys get their chance every day. If he has not earned any time getting better in practice and improving playing against BEN GD WALLACE EVERY GD DAY, when are you gonna improve????!!!!
Speedy those minutes are the way they are because Darko has not pushed his way in. Those 3 are good and will continue to be so, but considering he was pick #2 over some pretty stellar talent, this kid would be given ever chance to earn a minute. Fact is he hasn't.
Back to the original point, do you trade Granger for Darko, Green for Darko IMO, NFW. If they are off the board, trade down to NY.
