perhaps but history has shown that 4th year players do not get much better than their rookie year. Mo Pete for example.
Stuff like bender does scare me - he scored 31 in the McDonnald Classsic and looked like the next KG
but he is listed as a bust #11 - makes you want to ponder that Jamaal Magloire deal a little more.

Re: SI.com's Biggest NBA Busts
Bizarre to have Araujo on that list. A first year player? And one of the lowest picks on that list. With the players taken after him all having big question marks. Not exactly fair.
Where is Diop if you want to bash a C taken at 8? Where is Ralph Sampson, Christian Laetner, Kenny Anderson, Kenny Walker, Trajon Langdon and a hundred other guys.

Re: SI.com's Biggest NBA Busts
How the hell does a 1st year player get himself on an all-time bust list?
Is it because his a white stiff?

I guess it's because he's been exposed to the media so much this past season. There are other NBAers that are more deserving of course, but Araujo is fresh on the minds of a lot of people right now and that's probably why he's on that list.

Uh, Sampson, Laettner, and Anderson were all All-Stars at one point in their career, and were solid starters for several years. You can't consider them major busts.
Diop is a massive bust, but do you realize he's still 2 years younger than Araujo?

Re: SI.com's Biggest NBA Busts
Sometimes the truth hurts.
Thing is, it was really an incomprehensible pick. When you pick a guy, you figure either he is going to be similar to another current or past NBAer, or he's so very special that he will be unique.
Best case scenario for Hoffa, which I mentioned before summer league even started, is Vitaly Potapenko.
Who incidentally is taking offers as a FA for league minimum...
I want to be wrong. (But I doubt it. )
I hope Hoffa comes back at 260, a little quicker, with some footwork. And that he tries to do a little less, but do it better. I think he can be a better rebounder, and we certainly need that.
Pryzbilla got so much better when he tried to do LESS.
Why couldn't Hoffa be a bigger Danny Fortson? He is just as strong, and he also is a terriffic FT shooter.
[fingerscrossed]
