Building A Young Core
As it stands right now, here are the players on our roster who are 25 and under.
Rafael Araujo 24
Matt Bonner 25
Chris Bosh 21
Omar Cook 23
Joey Graham 23
Uros Slokar 22
Pape Sow 23
Roko Ukic 21
Charlie Villanueva 20
That's a pretty nice, young looking core if you ask me. Yes Uros Slokar might not play for the Raptors any time soon, but the rest of those players will be on our roster come October. (Except for maybe Omar Cook) The Raptors have five frontcourt players now who are in their early to mid 20s, which bodes well for the future. Hopefuly our coaching staff can guide these kids into the right direction.

Yep. Just turned 25 a couple of months ago actually. Not much of a surprise really, considering the fact that he did play in Europe for a year.

And he was a senior when he was drafted.
But the younger Matt Bonner wasn't good enough for the NBA, anyways.

Re: Building A Young Core
It looks like 7 or 8 of our 12 players on our active roster next season will be 25 or under. How many NBA teams can say that?

Is that supposed to be a good thing? It's exciting to have a young team, but unless they are winning, it doesn't mean squat.

An old, lumberin' team that fails to win isn't compellin' either - if you look @ Chicago and Washington, teams that are at the cusp and movin' forward, they're primarily comprised of young players w/ a few veterans (such as Antonio Davis) to provide stability...

As long as they are improving year by year.. They don't have to have a winning record.
