Statistical Projections : #7 Charlie Villanueva
With the Toronto Raptors being in a "Rebuilding" proccess this year I belive that 3 rookies from the 2005 draft will be given quality playing time. Looking at Charlie Villanueva's game what will his stats be for the 2005/2006 season
16.1 MPG
9.4 PPG
3.5 RPG
0.7 APG
0.8 BPG

Only 3.5 RPG? I see him getting at least 5 or 6 in his rookie campaign.

Re: Statistical Projections : #7 Charlie Villanueva
Because of necessity I predict that C-Nova will get the most burn out all the rookies
-I think he could get up to 20 minutes a game, I don't know how many points he will get but could see him averaging closer to 6 rebounds a game during his rookie year

Re: Statistical Projections : #7 Charlie Villanueva
my sincere apologies for being so handicapped!... CLEARLY i cant read.. lol.... ya... those are i would say safe numbers for him. i would hope for like 10-6 or so... i would be happy with 10-6 thats for sure. i could be very hapy 9-4 too... depending on how he gets those stats. in the rookie year it isnt necessarily about the numbers you put up. but the way you do it, what you show everyone you're capable of.
-lata... and im sorry for being such a fool...

I think he will get 20-25 minutes a game. 16 a game is a little low.
No way he scores that many points per minutes. 28/48 is extremely high for a rookie. I think his rebounds per minutes will be close to 1 every 4/4.5 minutes.
So
22.5 MPG
9.4 PPG
5.4 RPG

So altogether, 15 ppg?
In all seriousness, I think close to 8-9ppg and 6-7rpg is good.

Re: Statistical Projections : #7 Charlie Villanueva
About 9 ppg and 6 rpg in like 20 minutes on the floor would be great.

Re: Statistical Projections : #7 Charlie Villanueva
the more i read fans and mediatypes talk about charlie, the more i start to think that something's wrong. i mean, there are people all over the place who won't stop praising this guy's athleticism and, really, i don't think it's all that impressive myself.
ok, he was a point guard in high school, fine, but he's not pg-fast anymore (provided he ever was). he's also not (imo) an 'out-of-this-gym leaper' at all. i think mo peterson, for example, is far more "athletic" than charlie villanueva. that doesn't mean i don't think charlie can be as solid of a professional as mop, not at all, i'm just saying that he isn't as athletic as some are making him out to be.
i don't know how he'll play as a rookie next year, though. i'm hoping he'll be capable of surprising me. i like his intangibles already, in fact i like most of our players' intangibles, i just don't think he has the ability to ever dominate a game (athletically or otherwise). i mean, i don't think he ever will- i don't have a problem with that either, i'm just hopeful that he can overachieve to a certain degree.
and again, i really don't think he's that athletic. i think some fans (likely those who've never seen him on the floor) are going to be disappointed when they see how he really plays. it won't be 'bad', it just won't be the way he's being made out to be (imo).
peace

Guess you dont know all that much about his athletic ability. Okafor and Gordon praised it saying he dunked over Okafor in practice which is how everyone started to know this guy.
