Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
Boxscore is up.
Looked like CV3 was on his way to having another good game.
Graham is getting some consistent statlines.
Check out the playing time. Everybody got their money's worth tonight. Charlie played about 20 minutes, and had the least PT of anyone. Good job by Mitchell.

Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
Don't worry about those fouls, guys. Just like the players, the officials are also rookies. Plus, you can't foul-out of an SPL game, so players don't worry about it.

true...but we also said the same things about hoffa last summer
(just like to say i know he comes from a good collegiate program that emphasizes defense and has produced good defensive players as well)

Hopefully we get updates tomorrow, god their site is so crappy, the one time of year ppl actually care about that thing and they still can't run it.

Yap. That makes sense. CNova played less than 20 minutes, and actually, no one in the squad played more than 30 minutes.
The next game with the lakers will be interesting, if our guys won't be too tired (4 games in 4 days. that's not nice).
CV has to bulk a little. I hope he won't get injured too much.

Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
That's a pretty great summer league team from Memphis. Many big name college guys.
They killed us on the boards and scored twice as many points from the FT line.
Wouldn't worry about Joey's fouls as almost every Rap had 4 fouls. I remember watching last years games and the officials were really calling it tight. Hard to watch. Refs are being evaluated and can't just let things go like experienced refs do.

The fact that the Raptors led 25 to 7 after the 1st still bodes well - the Grizzlies supposedly rallied late, when the fatigue of playin' 3 games in 3 days eventually catches up w/ those who actually are tired (on the floor)... Most collegiate players haven't played consecutive daily games as such - conference, NC2A, National Invitation, etc. tournaments usually have winnin' squads advance and play after a day's respite (i.e. play on Friday, win - next game: Sunday)... .
|
There are quite a few tournaments in November that December that involve playing 3 games in 3 days.

To mention Joey G and Hoffa in the same sentence when talking about defense is sacreligious.
