Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
Its a typo!! We really lost according to a few members from a different board who attended the game. We led 25-7 after 1 also.

Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
Reports have the Raptors losing by that score, not winning. The website might have it backwards.
Edit: That website sucks, btw. You'd think they'd have a little more content on these games considering they are summerproleague.com. If I was the webmaster of jessicaalba.com I'd have a little more than just the name of the last film she was in.

Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
I've read on every basketball site I frequent that Memphis won fairly handily after coming back from a big deficit in the first.
Don't pay attention to SPL's official site. It's garbage.

This shouldn't come as a major surprise or disappointment - I would've been shocked if the team had actually won this game...
The fact that the Raptors led 25 to 7 after the 1st still bodes well - the Grizzlies supposedly rallied late, when the fatigue of playin' 3 games in 3 days eventually catches up w/ those who actually are tired (on the floor)... Most collegiate players haven't played consecutive daily games as such - conference, NC2A, National Invitation, etc. tournaments usually have winnin' squads advance and play after a day's respite (i.e. play on Friday, win - next game: Sunday)... Combine that w/ the 40 minute regulation of the college game coupled w/ the OT contest w/ the Mavs, and it stands to reason that the team may not have been in the most optimal state to best the Grizzlies... The 25 to 7 score indicates when the group would've been freshest and less prone to makin' mistakes owin' to the wear of playin' so much so...
So yes, it's a summer league game and it might've been nice to be 3 and 0; but given what information we've gleaned thus far about a competitive young nucleus stemmin' from the lineup fielded, I don't think there's any shame incurred from this loss...

Re: SPL: Raptors vs. Memphis
^ Oh don't worry, i'll live. LOL. Apparently coach mitchell pulled out our big guns and said screw it you guys are getting rest and so our scrubs played against their scrubs, and their scrubs killed. From what i read, it was basically cook against memphis. I also read that CV still played like his old self but mitchell pulled him out in the second hald because of a minor injury.
Hopefully we get updates tomorrow, god their site is so crappy, the one time of year ppl actually care about that thing and they still can't run it.

CV was his usual self. Active on offense and defense. He was matched up with Warrick a lot and took it to him ever chance he got. I commented that on friday he hung on the perimiter a lot. Well, today he was constantly driving to the hoop with force. He blocked one of Hakims shots and dished the bsall off well. Again, the crowd raved about him. He sat out the 4th qtr and finished with 16

From 1 of the 2 posters @ RealGM who attended the game
I also like the fact that Slokar isn't afraid to mix it up inside - I imagine that he's got a bruiser mentality like Araujo, but w/ actual game and athletic ability...

I would hope so ST - her film credits are among the last points of consideration when Jessica Alba comes to mind...
