I was wondering the Yogi Stewart and Toronto's 1st rounder for Lammon Murray. How long is this pick protected till? I am just curious so lets say we are top 5 next year do we still get the pick or is it shipped to the Bobcats.

Yes. That pick is lotto protected through 2008. Unprotected in 2009.

No. It has to be our own. But we could trade them Denver's pick to get the rights to our pick back, if we wanted.

The protection on it is pretty decent, though. "First round pick" is a heavy term but by the time we lose it, we'll be a playoff team, anyways.

If they miss the PO's this year they will again have a lottery and another first rounder (denvers). Toronto would have more young lottery players then the Baby Bulls - they would simply have to make the playoffs.
