Re: Raptors Future
I hate to admit it but I think the Raps are stuck fighting to stay out of the Atlantic cellar with the Knicks this season. (And fighting Atlanta, Charlotte Bobcats and Orlando to stay out of the East cellar).
Nets will win the division with a healthy Kidd all year and an improving Krstic.
Celtics will be 1 more year closer to becoming dominating.
Where does everyone think Philly will end up? Webber and Iverson=Strength? or =Old Farts?
2008-2009 GO RAPS!

Re: Raptors Future
I dont see the playoffs that much of a strech for this team, Boston again is the team to beat in this division but the rest is up in the air
Philly - Iverson and especially Webber arent getting any younger and they will probably have the same record as last year
NJ - If Kidd goes this team is screwed with VC and RJ, they better get a big guy for him
NY - They arent getting much better then last season
so it is possible we end up in 2nd, its just is that enough to make it

I agree with what you said about the Knicks and Sixers (although I do believe Philly is still a bit better than us), but the Kristic guy in New Jersey... he's gonna be damn good IMO.

Re: Raptors Future
No playoffs this season.
Central Division should produce 5 seeds already, with Miami a lock for the Southeast Division champ.
Remaining two seeds should be between New Jersey and the likes of Washington, Boston, and perhaps Philly or Orlando. We'd be figuring in the next tier below that.

"I don't really look at guys and memorize players, but (Bosh) is very impressive. He can shoot, he has an inside game, physical at times, he's pretty good...he's more than holding his own." - Shaq
"I really like him...to me he's already pretty special," Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki said after continually getting beat to the basket by Bosh. "He's going to be a great player in this league."
"Chris Bosh really has emerged to be a star in this league. There are more than the top three (in the 2003 draft)." - Dwyane Wade
I love everything about him, I love his game, I love his work ethic. He definitely has my approval - Kobe Bryant"

Re: Raptors Future
People being Raptors fans become to bias and dont put things in prospective. To be honest i dont see the Raptors becoming a playoff team this year or within 2 years.
Our roster is really unblanced, we need to sort all that out 1st before even thinking of contending the playoffs, not just making it but having a good playoff run.
This years Eastern conference standing look like--
Miami Heat
Indiana Pacers
Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Pistons
Boston Celtics
Washington Wizards
Chicago Bulls
New Jersey

Then you have Philly who will be better then us, and also Milwaukee will be a much improved team then last year.
I dont think its wise to sign Pape Sow with the MLE if we want to win in couple of years. Pape Sow is a player that will need a lot of years to develop into a good centre, stil he is really raw.
