Granger out of summer league

Quote:
Lingering soreness from an old knee injury will keep first-round pick Danny Granger from playing with the Indiana Pacers in the Minnesota summer league.

For all you haters wondering why Babs stepped away from Granger ...
Seems his knee troubles are for real ...
Still, he might have an incredible career.

Re: Granger out of summer league

Knee problems always suck for basketball players, alot of times the player ends up ok but not quite as good as he could have been, or it downright ruins his career or limits him to being a roleplayer.

So it's easy to understand why alot of teams passed on him, not only the Raptors.

Re: Granger out of summer league

This has been discussed in Indy land, The rumors are that They are just holding him out for precautionary measures only. He is fine.
At least that is the rumor.

Re: Granger out of summer league

No need to stress over Danny, he'll be fine. He went through all of their practices and they don't see the reason to put him out there in meaningless summer games. Jack hurt his ankle in the workouts and isn't playing either.

Re: Granger out of summer league

Still ... they say in the article that is knee is at 80 % only ...
I'm just saying that Babs made his homework on that one and he had a good argument to pass on him ...

Of course that Villy comment is in my face ...

the point is he may be incredible - by why risk it when Joey G. is available and more durable - the last thing Raps fans want is more jumpers knee or Jamaal Mashburn.

I thought Jack hurt that back during the season. I remember the game. He played through it and almost won it for GT.

Funny, all that stuff from the Toronto media or about Granger having injury problems as a reason for Babs not taking him turn out to be true.

Conversely, Chad Ford and DG's agents and others either played dumb or denied the problems.

Looks like we know who was spinning who.

Re: Granger out of summer league

Granger will probably have a better career but Graham is better for us. The Raps need a Maggette-like player (interms of build and slashing ability) with top-notch defense more than a Mashburn-like player with serviceable defense.
