Re: OT - NHL Lockout should end today !
Finally! We can get back to paying $80+ per ticket to see some frustratingly slow, clutch and grab, thug-brand hockey that's devoid of excitement, scoring and general offense. The NHL is a pathetic joke and should be rightly categorized as a sub-Arena Football League enterprise. I hope that arenas sit empty across the continent. TV Ratings will be wretched since, oh yeah, they have no US National broadcast deal!

I think there signing with the USA Network....is that national?
Anyways, there implementing new rules so you can expect more offense and less clutching and grabbing.
Under the new cap system the Leafs look to be in trouble with 8 players under contract at a total of 23 million. Plus many of them are old and on the decline. Too bad for Leaf fans.LOL.

Uh, well they will be able to buyout players like Belfour and Sundin and Nolan should they want to without regard to the cap.
Given they have paid over 60 mil US in the past, they can certainly afford to do this to better position themselves. So really, if they want they could be closer to 5-8 million if they release all three. They have the money to do it.
So I would not worry about the Leafs having troubles.

100% agree. I just hope this lockout has killed the game in those useless markets to the point that even the low salary threshold in the mid 20 mil area is too expensive for them to stay afloat.
Die: Nashville, NJ, Columbus, ATL, FLA, TB, PHX, WASH, NYI and so on.
When they go 4 on 4 or let a significant number of teams die, they can count me back because the product will be better, until then, they can eat me.

Re: OT - NHL Lockout should end today !
I still don't get why they re-signed Belfour. With the NHL lockout looming at the time, they still decided to pay a boat-load of money to this guy who was injured at the time. Because of this, he still received a large bit of his salary during the lockout.

Re: OT - NHL Lockout should end today !
^^^ The leafs charge 40K just for the right to buy a 40K seasons ticket they can pay whoever they want whatever they want and still make millions.
I just don't care anymore about hockey anymore. Despite what should be the most exciting off-season of all time I honestly couldn't give a **** what they do.
Go Raptors
