Raps looking at Devin Brown?
http://www.nba.com/playerfile/devin_brown/bio.html
Heard Chuck McAtinack on the Fan say the Raps have contacted his agent about signing as an FA.
There must be some trades in the works.

Re: Raps looking at Devin Brown?
guess Bonner's agent is playing hardball.
I bet a follow up is Marshall s/t for Nesterovic too. I called it first!
Then buy out Lammond to avoid the tax (Rob said MLSE was willing to go over)

Re: Raps looking at Devin Brown?
If it is true, we have ourselves a nice pickup. Devin Brown is a real good player ... does a little bit of everything. Defends, scores, passes, boards ... you name it. He just didn't play much because Ginobli and Bowen were ahead of him. Hard to get PT with an mvp candidate and a defense player of the year candidate ahead of you in the rotation.
We could have trade in the works, but it could simply mean buying out Murray ... if it is simply a buyout + sign ... then we get a much balanced roster.
I figure DB will cost us 2 mil per season. Would 3 mil be enough to sign Bonner and Sow? ... not likely. this is all a bit puzzling.

He'd be good pickup - he's pretty good on D is he not. I can't imagine Pop playing him if he wasn't.

crap I hope not - Nester is soft and would slow the development of the other Young bigs. Nest < Woods defensively.

^he's also signed for like 4 more years lol
(I don't want us to sign anyone personally. I like the 'maximize our draftpicks for 2 more years' approach. Won't happen though, so 37 wins here we come!)

Re: Raps looking at Devin Brown?
Devin Brown did not play much down the stretch and in the playoffs because he was coming off of an injury, his back I think. He is a solid player, nothing fancy, but works very hard, he would be like a Trenton Hassel, but with better scoring ability.
My question is does he play the 2 or the 3? If he is a small forward then we have Joey, if he is a two, we may look to move Mo-Pete (we can't move Rose...$) and have Joey and Devin as a defensive, hard working combo.

Re: Raps looking at Devin Brown?
Why do you want to trade MOP ?
We have only MOP, Jalen and Graham to play the 2 or 3 ...
With Brown ...
MOP and Brown at the 2
Jalen and Graham at the 3
Screw Lamond and Eric ...
Give some scrap minutes to Charlie and Bonner at the 3 to finish the rotation ...

I did not say I wanted to trade Peterson...I said we may look to trade him "IF" we were to sign Brown. I don't see the need of devin unless we are going to move someone.

Re: Raps looking at Devin Brown?
Devin would likely back up Mo at the 2.
Also we have much more than jalen Joey and Mo to play the 2/3. We have Ewill, Murray, and Alvin, who play there and maybe some spot time at the 3 for bonner Bosh and Charlie.

Yeah. He has to be checked before he wears the Raps jersey.
