slightly OT- Magloire on the move?

I don't have a link but apparently it's being reported (on the radio) that Magloire and filler (David West or something) is going to be moved for Lorenzen Wright and Battier.

Go Memphis!!! Not because Magloire is there but because they're in the same conference as the Nuggets.

Now this could be a wild rumour but the basic elements of this trade seem pretty sound. Memphis is dangerous if this deal went through and the Hornets would have a very good SF to complement their up and coming backcourt.

Re: slightly OT- Magloire on the move?

Holy crap, I had forgotten they had Warrick too. Just when I'd written the Grizz off too...

If this goes through

JWill/BJax/Burks
Posey/Dahntay Jones/Snyder
Mike Miller/Hakim Warrick
Gasol/Cardinal
Magloire/Big Jake

Looks good to me.

Re: slightly OT- Magloire on the move?

Memphis is in the south are they not? I believe Denver's with Minny, Portland, Seattle and Utah. Anyways, Memphis will be very tough to beat if this trade goes through.

a great deal if its true, and shows that we really had no chance of getting magloire for what we thought, at least we might be able to pick him up via FA

He's their heart and soul, but if it bettered the team, then I don't see why not.

Magloire on the Grizz list elevates them a few notches, and most notably allows Gasol to play with a big body to help out in the paint. If Gasol was to make strides this season, the Grizz needing a player like Magloire was always to be on the menu.

This lineup:

PG Jason Williams, Bobby Jackson, Antonio Burks
SG Mike Miller, Dahntay Jones, Kirk Snyder
SF James Posey, Brian Cardinal, Andre Emmett
PF Pau Gasol, Hakim Warrick, David West?
C Jamaal Magloire, Lawrence Roberts, Jake Tsakalidis, Curtis Borchardt

is certainly better than this:

PG Jason Williams, Bobby Jackson, Antonio Burks
SG Mike Miller, Dahntay Jones, Kirk Snyder
SF James Posey, Shane Battier, Andre Emmett
PF Pau Gasol, Hakim Warrick, Brian Cardinal, Lawrence Roberts
C Lorenzen Wright, Jake Tsakalidis, Curtis Borchardt

Re: slightly OT- Magloire on the move?

No news links today. Just a rumour? Still, doesn't seem too unrealistic as Jerry West has stockpiled players to make a move for SOMEONE, and it might as well be a center like Magloire.

Re: slightly OT- Magloire on the move?

This deal would make memphis a ton better. Battier is great but Magloire is the type of player they need. It isn't too bad for the hornets either. Battier would fit in nicely as they are lacking a strong SF.

Apparently it is a done deal. Both teams have agreed.

Radio stations in both New Orleans and Memphis are saying the deal is done, but they're waiting for the CBA stuff to get done before they announce it.

Rather strange, as waiting for the CBA to be finalized hasn't stopped other teams from announcing trades and deals that will be done.
