Re: Luke Jackson to the Raps?

strange that it wouldn't involved a marshall sign-and-trade. it'd free $2MM more for cleveland. if i were ferry, i'd want that a lot more than aaron, and more than a future pick. a sign and trade would also let them get marshall cheaper for the same end dollars -- less 1st year, higher yearly raises -- that saves them another over-minimum chunk of dollars for this season, too.

We get Jackson (the point of this thread) and a defensive wing in Newble. The Warriors get EWill, a good player to have off the bench, and A-Train. The Cavs get a PG who can shoot in Fisher.

Re: Luke Jackson to the Raps?

I'd like to land Luke but I don't really see it happening. Ferry already traded away Welsch for basically nothing and Jackson hasn't had a fair shake to show what he can do there. The Cavs need shooters on the wing and are going to have trouble adding them in times to come.

Aaron Williams and the Denver pick for Jackson and Wagner (signed for cheap)? That draft pick might tempt Ferry but I doubt Wagner tempts Babcock.

I really doubt there's anything going on here.

A terrible rookie year? He played 10 games, and was plagued by injury problems... He didn't even get a chance to prove himself.

But obviously there is more to this rumoured deal. I would have liked Luke to be involved in a sign and trade deal with Donyell in which Cleveland would save money, but I guess they wouldn't go for that.

I also don't think Alston is involved. Yes Cleveland needs a PG, but they just had a cancer at PG who didn't mesh well with there system.

I too am skeptical there is a deal going here, because we don't have many assets, and I doubt Cleveland is willing to give up on Luke so soon. But I would definetly love to acquire a player like Luke who would be a key player for us in the future.

Nice job with the pics, but the Warriors will not do this deal. Fisher is much more valuable than Williams and Williams, as he is their only backup point (and plays well off-ball too). Did you see who the Warriors drafted the past two years? They're not about to trade for Aaron Williams after drafting Biedrins and Diogu, while already having Foyle, Murphy, and Zarko (Taft probably is NBDL).

Didn't we almost get into a fight with Ira Newble last year when he clubbed Rafer Alston?

That's exactly what came to my mind when I saw Newble's name, so ye I don't think the team or Alston for that matter would want Newble anywhere here. BTW didn't Newble also get involved with VC a couple of years back?

Pretty sure. It's always for little stuff, too. Not like Bruce Bowen things, but like shots in traffic, or when someone is out of control. And usually when they aren't even going at him.

For the record I get him and Lee Nailon mixed up constantly, so I could be mistaken. Way more than I mix up Chris Childs and Lindsey Hunter. Or NugzFan and nbaknowitall.

Re: Luke Jackson to the Raps?

I'd take it with a grain of salt right now. Could be nothing more than the Star getting the offseason trade rumour ball rolling.

Luke could fit nicely here, but as some have mentioned, it makes little sense on Cleveland's behalf as of now.

The guy is one of the toughest defenders in the league.

He's also one of the least skilled offensive players in the league.

Pick you poison.
