Hoffa 3 rebs 8 mins vs. Canada
I see not much has changed since the season ended.
Quote:
BRASILIA -- Canada's senior men's basketball team lost 79-77 to Brazil in the second of a two pre-tournament exhibition games.
Canada's attack was led by Vidal Massiah's 14 points while fellow Toronto native Denham Brown added 12 points.
Raptors forward Rafael Araujo pulled down three rebounds in eight minutes.

If you read up on who will be present for Team Brazil..
Splitter prolly won't attend, neither will Nene.
he will get the minutes, but i think he needs to put in the time with NBA trainers to help with his mobility, my ex-girlfriend for his (call) blocking ability, and a surgeon to get that perma-stupid look off his face.
All I want to see Hoffa do is put in some solid time with what he has available to him in North America. I'd rather see him injured while training with the raps than playing for another team.
I hate to admit it but, Oliver Miller was a much more productive center as a Raptor

meh, just another exhibition game. from what i heard Splitter didn't play too well either?
still, Hoffa should be able to dominate the likes of Canada...or I would like to think so anyway.
let's hope he's just shaking off the rust. i want to see him find a little more time on the court as we come up to the big tourney.

But Hoffa is 25, played one year in the NBA and was a lottery pick
Splitter is 20 and still playing Euroleague
You would hope that the fomer could out preform the latter.

Splitter is also the top big man prospect for next year's draft and actually has more playing experience than Hoffa. I don't think any of us expected Hoffa to outplay him for Brazil.
Hoffa's rebounding well so far and that's one thing to be happy about. We haven't heard good things about his defense but I thought his post defense was decent last season for a rookie center so I don't know what to think. We know he's picking up fouls but that was also to be expected.
I'm just thankful he's playing basketball this summer and will be in great shape for training camp. He's going to have some good games and some bad games but overall I think it'll be a good experience for him, even if their coach isn't ideal for his development.

Playing 8 minutes a game will not put him in good shape.
Hopefully they have tough practises.

I think he's probably already in great shape, maybe not game shape, but probably better than we saw him last year. And he has been getting more than 8 minutes on average. Anyways, it's better than just hitting the weight room- Hoffa needs game experience, even it's only 10 minutes.

Well mabye if he hit the gym, he would get more than 10 minutes a game.

If there's one thing that Hoffa has absolutely no problem with, it's hitting the gym. A little more speed training might be in order though...
