Zo amnesty cap space question?
IF and or when babcock uses the amnesty clause on Zo's contract does that not free up
5.9M 05/06
6.3M 06/07
or a portion thereabouts?

Re: Zo amnesty cap space question?
It would free that up from counting against the luxury tax but thats it.

Re: Zo amnesty cap space question?
but if that pushed the team under the cap (and I am not sure it does) can they not then sign players (FA's) within that space?

The amnexty rule doesn't create any salary cap space whatsoever.

Correct, its strictly a luxury tax exemption. Therefore it really won't do us much good. I also understand its a one time deal ( not every year) so it is probably better to save it in case we ever have a max player retiring/ serious injury mid-contract.

Re: Zo amnesty cap space question?
This purely makes room for them not to hit the luxury tax as they add MLE players this year and next.

It has to be used by the 15th of this month and isn't scheduled to be offered again also.

You're figures here reflect the pre-buyout contract. It is more likely that these two years are around $2.41M and $2.63M.

Yup, but still worth using the provision on it just in case I'd guess.
