It's official: Raptors re-sign Pape Sow
Quote:
(August 9, 2005) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Tuesday they have re-signed restricted free-agent forward/centre Pape Sow. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are excited to have Pape back with us,” said Raptors General Manager Rob Babcock. “He has worked very hard on his game over the past year, both during the season and throughout the summer.”
Sow, 6-foot-10, 250 pounds, averaged 2.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 9.4 minutes in 27 games with Toronto last season. He was drafted 47th overall by Miami and traded to Toronto during the 2004 NBA Draft along with a 2005 second-round pick for the draft rights to centre Albert Miralles.

Nice. I expected this to happen all along. At least it's finally official, and we can stop worrying about it.

Heres Pape celebrating in some questionable golf attire
Most likley the min. contract. I don't think Pape was getting his door beat down with offers. Sure he is a long way from realizing the Ben Wallace comparisions but we have signed older, un-athletic big man with no chance for imporvement for the same deal before, so why not sign someone with a chance of improving to sit at the end of the bench.
We now have the following players under contract for next year:
1.Rose
2.Bosh
3.Alston
4.Araujo
5.Williams 1
6.Williams 2
7.Williams 3
8.Peterson
9.Calderon
10.Sow
11.Charlie
12.Graham
13.Murray
14.Woods
We have a signed offer sheet to Duhon and a qualifying offer to Bonner. Roster is getting pretty damn full!

Re: It's official: Raptors re-sign Pape Sow
Great news.
One down, one more to go (two for those including the Duhon signing).

Yup.
Babs has done some nice moves.
If he signes Duhon and/or Bonner, It'll be a good off-season for us.
It'll be even better if he makes a nice trade.
