it's sort of depressing that bonner's very public choice to play in toronto for less money (less court time?) than he could have received elsewhere is getting such limited PR. it's like the weak, ignorant fans who want/need to continue to believe that toronto is the armpit of the nba are conveniently looking away, while raptor fans plagued by their own inferiority complex are sitting in confusion. i guess it's kind of funny if you think about it.

however, it's unfortunate that our general manager has to fight this battle- to fight the stunning misconceptions tied to toronto- but he seems to be faring rather well this summer. the people involved with the team now are almost all positive, solid spokesmen and eager to contribute.

bonner deserves points, too. the man can evidently think outside the box. american arrogance and myopia have taken a severe hit with this transaction, imo.

I hate the term ignorant American, I think it's horribly misused. But I understand what you're saying and I wish that Bonner didn't have to share the headline with "possible deals?!" But that's Toronto.
