Re: Pape Sow is averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds
I remember last year at the end of the year he was getting some minutes. I was impressed to tell you the truth. I agree they should bring him up and send Hoffa down.

Re: Pape Sow is averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds
I am not saying send Hoffa down coz he sucks, he just need to gain some confidence. I know it's so lame, like anyone of us could go play in ur community kindergarten basketball league and average like 100 points per game and it will prove nothing. But what Hoffa realli needs right now is to gain some confidence by owning the D-league and tell everyone in toronto that he's way more than NBDL material. In reply to ppl saying our team does need Hoffa right now, just a quick reminder, are we playing for anything except for the 1st overall pick this season? The best thing right now to do for this franchise is anything that would make us a better team in the future, not finishin this season 11-71 instead of 10-72.

How is he going to gain any confidence in the D-League? By plowing over guys and getting called for more fouls than he is here? By catching the ball and dunking on his opponents to the tune of 18 & 10 like he did in college, knowing that he's playing against inferior competition when he could be holding his own in the real league? Especially after all the hard work he's put in?
Dude, that's like sending a bad student with no learning deficiencies to sped because "he'll gain confidence" from it. It's insane. He won't gain confidence, he'll just feel like an absolute retard and in fact, feel MORE discouraged. Fact is, what you're saying will not work.
And like you said, the difference between winning 11 games or 10 games isn't much. In fact, it's nothing, and it'll have no bearing on whether we get the top pick or not, so the best thing we can do with that said is develop our players the best we can. And right now, the best way to develop Hoffa is in the big league.

Re: Pape Sow is averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds
it's not easy for me to understand why there are so many people still talking about the number 1 pick. i personally think this team is going to end the embarrassment soon and at least string together a couple of decent months. i mean, i can't imagine us having worse results than we've had to date this season, and yet we don't even have the worst record in the league now. how are we planning to get worse? have we overachieved?
i can't tell the future, i've said that many times, but i don't see our team going anywhere but up from here. we'll probably improve more significantly over the new two offseasons but i'm sure we'll be improving on the way there, too.
#1 pick? is there anyone who really believes we'll get it (or that we could even plan for it)? not that it matters in my mind, the draft is looking weaker by the day, but even if it weren't, i wouldn't be excited for that outcome. this is not the worst team in the league- no matter how badly we want it to be so.
peace

Re: Pape Sow is averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds
I don't even think it matters. There is no consensus number one. Aldridge, Morrison, Bargnani and Gay could all go #1 depending on the team. I think all we can hope for is a top 3 pick.

Exactly, it is foolish to plan your future around a #1 pick you don't have yet. I think you seriously look at the guys in the top 5, as I truly believe we are a bottom five club. Things can and will get better for the Raptors as the season goes on, but it will for other teams as well.
I don't care how weak this draft is, I only really care how weak the top five are, because if the Raps don't get a top five pick this year, we are doomed from another crappy season the year after and the year after that. We got a steal in Charlie, but I don't want to have to get lucky again. This team needs another legit kinda superstar in town or it will not be achieving Babcock's golden vision.
The only teams with weaker rosters in the NBA are the Bobcats, Hawks and maybe the Blazers. Raps need a top three pick this year.
