Re: Hawks @ Raptors, Dec. 28th
We won!
By the boxscore, it looks like awesome guard play carried us in this game. Bosh was quiet - didn't shoot terribly, but only took 11 shots, finishing with 15. Atlanta had 21 turnovers, that probably contributed a lot to the Raps win.
7-22.

Re: Hawks @ Raptors, Dec. 28th
I can honestly say that even when we were down 8 or 9 I was confident that the Raps would win tonight. The Hawks are very erratic.
Nice game for Jalen Rose. Clutch everywhere in the second half of the fourth quarter. Had a nice defensive stop before stealing the in-bounds and sparking our finishing touches on the game.
Home crowd really giving it to Hoffa. I didn't feel the same kind of spite this time, though. They booed because they wanted him to score. How many lay-ins can you miss in a row? Had he hit one of them they would've given him a good round. He looked frustrated but not ashamed, which was alright.
Chris Bosh looked tired. His one-on-one battle with Harrington late worked right into our hands. Thank goodness Salim and Tyronn we're kept quiet--either of them could've done us in with a few in a row.
Pachulia looked like crap.
Marvin was much better this time around. Good effort from him. Little offensive structure for him to work in, though.
Joey Graham is a nice shooter.

hahaha take that Joe Johnson!!!! Remember our 1st win against them JJ said "we're alot better than that team, especially at home". I wonder what's he gonna said this time?? Maybe he'll say "were still alot better than that team, just look at our record" hahaha

Re: Hawks @ Raptors, Dec. 28th
wait, does this mean that since we have the same record if we were to do the lottery today, that the hawks would have more balls?

^ We don't have the same record. We still have two more losses--we've played two more games.
I can't remember how they do it. Either a coin would be flipped to determine who was last and second last, or they would take the total number of balls from both last places and split them evenly. We won a coin toss last year but I think Denver split their ball total with Cleveland in 03.

Chris's defensive stance (crouched) against Harrington enabled him to cut off Al's angles to drive and being upfront in Harrington's grill also prevented Al from getting off a clean jumper...

I do concur w/ Armstrong's assessment for the most part - the booing stems more from the position of the pick: i.e. 8th - versus Araujo himself - he possesses limited abilities and really shouldn't have been selected as high as he was, but b/c it's the 8th pick overall (and a lottery one @ that), the crowd has been merciless on Hoffa over the course of the last 2 years... He's a good role player who tries hard and obviously has the support of his teammates (Bosh going over to Hoffa and telling him to keep plugging away after the missed jump shot), but doesn't have the tools to placate those irate over him being chosen where he was in the draft...

Re: Hawks @ Raptors, Dec. 28th
Raps were lucky to pull this one out. Hawks shot themselves in the foot by taking out the red hot Tyronn Lue and just leaving him on the bench most of the 4th Q.
How many miracle shots did MoP make tonight? At least two weeks worth.
Mike James was incredible. 9 assists on top of a great shooting night.
Hoffa was playing pretty well. 3 offensive rebounds in 12 minutes. Ran the floor well. Took quality shots in the flow of the offense. Crowd started to boo him when he was 0/4 ? Jalen does that every night. Charlie was stuffed twice at the rim and missed a little chipshot himself. Its just become fashionable to bash the guy.
I blame the ref that made that first BS foul call on Hoff. He established hard position in the paint and made that first shot. Bad call took that away and it all went downhill. People boo him for doing nothing wrong. And the boos are at least part of the reason he misses easy looks.
Jalen makes one shot all night, but its a big one off the steal. Actually made his FT's at the end too.
Nice to see Chris so intense on D. Getting down in the defensive stance like that.
Still, we should have blown these guys out. Not struggle with a late comeback win that required a lot of breaks going our way.

It's not balls speedy, it's combinations. Either way, I think the only time they do a coin toss is when the total number is uneven (say the two teams have records of spots that would give them a combined number of 13 combinations, they coin toss for who gets 7 and who gets 6), but in the case of Denver and Cleveland they just split it because there are an even number of balls between the first and second-place teams.
