I doubt there is really a trade in the works, he immediately joined the Raptors for their game tonight, so they could pretty much bring him along at any time right after a trade. So why now?

I think it's more to due with Pape Sow and his agent persuading Babcock to give him a shot with the team again, given how well he's done in the D League.

Hopefully he can impress.

I agree that Pape could be called up at any time.....but to have him back with the team for a week or three before a trade is made would be a big help. Sow needs to learn any new sets that the team is running and also any new defensive changes that Keady (or Mitchel) has implimented. I don't think that we will see a deal made today...but this sets the team up for the near future. I would not be shocked to see Woods let go, or a deal that is a two for one with either Rose or E-Will packaged with Aaron Williams. THis would open up an active roster spot and make room for Pape to get 10-12 minutes a game.

it's kind of funny that we can't seem to get much 'truth' as fans, especially after things like this. i mean, it's impossible to get exactly why pape sow was called up from anyone- it's being guarded like the white house.

i'm thinking to myself, ok, maybe you don't want to establish a bad relationship with arkansas, but still, why is that so important? why do we have to listen to these defenses (and their lies) with such regularity that they've become the norm?

if we're prepping for a trade, it's also a little disgusting that our media wouldn't allow that tidbit of news to surface without exploding it onto another level. i mean, i really don't care that much- so jalen, eric, aaron, mike are on the block... fine! we know that pretty well by now, it's not news. it's just sort of frustrating (and funny) when it trickles down to pape sow.

part of me is thinking that we're denying the truth more out of habit than anything else, more because it's become the norm for itself, and that bothers me too. it's become instinct to hide virtually all information like it's all dangerous. and we'll just assume that it is until it's proven otherwise- if not longer.

this system we have is flawed, i think.

anyways, I wouldn't look too much into the secretive behind the scences reasons for this move. I was thinking that his rebounding and effort could be used on this team for months, pretty much since he started his stellar play in the D. Now that he's got a little seasoning and confidence, it is a perfect time to see if that can be transfered to the bigs

plus, with scouting around the league so dilligent these days, I'm sure he's not being showcased for a trade, as a Eric Williams would be. If he comes to the league and struggles that could only decrease the value that he has built in the D league

This could also be a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the pathetic 32 rebounds we collected last night, where we allowed Utah to pretty much have a layup drill and allowed AK47 to get 16 boards

Interesting.

No minutes for both him and Hoffa. Don't like this move. We play Hoffa, then Sow sits on the bench and rots, and vice versa.

I'd like to see Sow start tonight though. He's just a flat out better player than Araujo.

Apparently this move is to evaluate his progress and to reunite him with the team, even if it's not for the rest of the season.

You don't want to keep guys like Sow down in the D for too long IMO. You need to come back up to touch bases with the coach and your teammates. Mitchell needs to fill him in on any system changes that have been made and he needs to work with our coaching staff in practice. The guys need to welcome him back and show him a lot of support. All these things are important to the psyche of a guy that has been sent away, even if only temporarily.

I'd like to see what he can do with a few minutes but I understand that it will be very difficult for Sam to find anything significant.

He can't play like that in the big boy L, posting up while dribbling up around his chin, that balls getting stolen everytime.

it might just be to put pressure on Hoffa, if sees Pape with the team he guesses his time is running out soon so he either tries harder or gives up, lets hope that it is the first one
