Pape Sow Called Up!
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...rts/Basketball
Quote:
After what turned out to be a revitalizing two-month stint in the minor leagues, the Toronto Raptors have recalled centre Pape Sow to the National Basketball Association.
The 6-foot-10, 250-pound second-year player is expected to rejoin the Raptors tonight in Portland, where Toronto will play the Trail Blazers in the second of a five-game road trip....

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
Hot damn, can't wait to see him play.... so does this mean Hoff will only play at the start of the 1st Q now?

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
Sam just said on the radio that he has no minutes for Pape Sow. Strange comment when he hasn't seen him play in practice yet.
Apparently some things were happening in Arkansas that have either made Pape want to leave, or made Rob want to move him out. Sam mentioned they were going through some 'changes' down there.
To me, Sam's comments clearly demonstrate that Pape never impressed him much in practice. Certainly not as a C that could displace Hoffa. We will see how he practices with the club, but that won't be until after this road trip given the tight schedule.

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
Pape was putting up 20/12 in 34 minutes. I'm not sure which skills we had him working on but the level of competition is miles below the NBA level so maybe practicing with our team every day will help as much as the D did.
Bonner is currently playing too well to share minutes with Hoff, so I don't know where Pape could get some. The situation in Arkansas must've been destructive.

It should be interesting to see how Pape Sow fits in with the team now.

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
I'm pretty sure Pape will get at least a couple of minutes of playing time tonight. Quite frankly, I'd rather see him start than Hoffa, but I know that's not going to happen.

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
Maybe he was called back up now so he can get a week or two in with the team before we make a trade that wii free up some PT for Sow. If Rose gets moved along with Aaron Williams or E-Will, Charlie may pick up some or the minutes vacated by them. This would free up a few minutes a game for Pape......Could Woods be on the chopping block?....not a big deal if we cut him loose

A nice thing with is Rob, is that you don't hear a thing about any trade until he pulls the trigger.
We just have to be patient.
If any trade's in the works, E-Will's probably involved.

Re: Pape Sow Called Up!
just out of curiousty, could a player's rights be traded even if he is in D-league?...
so he doesn't have to be on the NBA team to be traded...
anyhow, i do hope to see Sow (see saw :-) in action against NBA compitition to see how he adapts.

I would think so - we can trade the rights to Ukic or Slokar with them playing in Europe, but they aren't under contract though . . .

mayb aaron williams will get shopped around with eric williams?
perhaps we finally see hoff goin down to the D league?
lets hope babcock makes the right decision(s).
