Re: Raptors @ Nuggets, Jan. 23rd
Now I kinda hope Bosh doesn't get picked for the all-star game. It really looks like he could use the extra days off.

Re: Raptors @ Nuggets, Jan. 23rd
these games are really tough to watch. this trip was like one of the worst drugs in the world. painful. i hope our coaches have the wisdom to help our guys through this slowest part of the season.
but i'm having more and more trouble accepting how bad i think we are on the glass. the numbers don't show it every night, but they show it almost every night, which is actually almost unbelievable. what's the cause? you could probably put your finger on a million different things, and you'd have a point on all of them, but i can't help but question our team's attitude. attitude is something that changes with the importance of games, sure, and maybe it'll improve should we begin to compete on a higher level, but i think ours is a fundamental problem. the attitude of most of our players is so weak on most nights that i almost can't stand it.
we just don't have fire on the glass, and even when we do, it's easily trumped and outmatched by the fire of our opponents.
i don't know, there are a lot of things plaguing our team right now, but i think our rebounding trouble has less to do with our current slump than it does with the simple reality: even in better times, i think this roster would have sincere problems rebounding the basketball.
peace

Thank God that's over.
This squad needs to start afresh, back home is the way to go. Won't solve many of the flaws of this squad, ballocks rightfully pointing out are rebounding woes, but God only knows we need to put this last road trip behind us.

I agree. This road trip with the exception of the win against Seattle was just horendous. Everyone, especially Bosh and Mo Pete, looked absolutely exhausted throughout the Lakers game and the Nuggets game.

We never gave bosh the ball and that is why he chucked up that three, when he is on a roll we have to keep feeding it in there, no one on Denver could guard him, but instead we just kept shootin from the outside,
nice to see charlie start to get back on track and Pape getting after it

He kept shooting it from outside because he was just too exhausted to go inside and make a move from there. I think he's played 40 or more minutes in three of the last four games coming into last night's game, so the high altitude must have really made it seem even worst.

Re: Raptors @ Nuggets, Jan. 23rd
Morris Peterson is another guy who is clearly exhausted. He's played some heavy minutes of late, and has played hard on both ends of the floor but now it's seemed to have taken its toll. Hopefully he can get some rest and bounce back at home.
Charlie Villanueva with another strong performance, it's been almost a month since he's gotten 8 boards in a game. He still needs to improve his defense, but I like the fact that he's getting playing time with both Bonner and Bosh.
Pape Sow looked really good out there, 9 points, 3 blocks, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 20 minutes. Not to mention he was 5/5 from the line, an area he struggled in last year. It's obvious he's been working on those free throws.
I'm very surprised that Joey Graham didn't get any playing time last night. Any idea what it was? I would have though it would be fatigue but he's only averaged about 15 minutes per contest on this road trip.

Re: Raptors @ Nuggets, Jan. 23rd
This game was all about the 3pt shot not falling for us and the fast break points for the Nuggs. How many dunks did they get in this game?
MoP was ice cold. Not a good night to send Joey a message.
Pape looked much better at times but the excitement over his line is funny. If that was Hoff's line people would be bashing. Even Chuck and Leo had to call the one 'block' a goaltend as it clearly hit glass first, and the one putback was offensive interference. Helps to be lucky with the calls. 5 fouls in 20 minutes. Only 2 rebounds. Blown by on D by SF's which was supposed to be his big advantage.
Still, Pape brings great energy and is very aggressive at both ends. I would like to see him get touches in the low post. If he can score and draw fouls down there that is his big advantage over Hoff and Bonner and even Charlie.
Bonner gets 2 blocks and 9 boards and shoots 4/9 on a cold night from 3pt land and he still gets bashed. Interesting. If Bonner had the 3 going tonight he has a huge game and likely is the difference maker.
January has officially been wasted now. We stand at 14 games under .500 , exactly where we were at the end of November. No ground has been made up at all with this easy part of our schedule almost done. No more playoff talk. It will be a big accomplishment to continue at this .500 pace and end up at 34-48 which is 14 games under. Frees Babcock up to make trades now.

Other than his shooting and energy, I'm not sure what there is to like about his game at this point, at least from a results point of view. His defense still isn't there yet and he turns the ball over too much for my liking.

Unfortunately, live by the sword die by the sword. We've been lucky with the 3 this year, but it can't always work. It's frustrating to watch the team get so in love with the 3. One man dribbling and three people standing around the perimeter waiting and Bosh in the high post is FANTASTIC offense.
Thank god the playoff talk is over, never too realistic.

I think his defense is much better on the wing than anyone other than MoPete, and I give it a year before he's better. Plus, whenever he does get the ball in the post on offense(once every 3 games), his success rate his huge.
