Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
I mean ... I'm getting bored with this season already.
With the two picks, our Rookies gettin a year under their belt, Sow coming back, hopefully Araujo improving and the way Bosh and Mo Pete has been steppin up.
I Wasn't one that wished that we tank this season, but after the last winning streak we had, plus the dissapointing games we shoulda won ... the loser attitude is starting to win me over. Let's get a #1 pick, cross my fingers that Denver will go lottery...
I don't know, I just wish it was november 2006 already...

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
Dee-zy,
You're not the only looking forward to next season. Although we share some things, I'd like to see a few others.
My list of things to look forward to for next season:
1) Rookies improving and will have one full season under their belt
2) Sow is developing into a solid role player (20mpg type guy)
3) Top 5 pick could mean Morrison, Gay, Aldridge, Splitter (Bargnani's good, just not on this team)
4) Hopefully Jalen can be moved for cap space at the deadline, use the Denver pick if we have to (it ain't gonna be lotto). Go after some FA's this summer (Nene, Nazr, Harrington (yeah I like Al and if we draft a big, why not), and others) Plus, there are some decent role players available (Dupree could be a good fit here).
5) Slokar's coming over, and the reports from Summer league were promising on this guy, especially when he went up against Bogut.
6) Maybe, just maybe we'll have a new coach and with a new offensive/defensive playbook. I say go the Euro route where they use lots of movement in their offence, I used to love watching Euroleague for that reason when I lived in Moscow (wait, getting OT)
I'm not thinking about November 06 yet, but I am starting to think a lot about late June.
Anyway, I see lots of positives for the future with this club, and in contrast to a lot of people I think Babcock's doing a great job as GM to build a really strong team for the future.

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
This season has ended before it even started.
No one expected more from this roster, the result so far aren't that awful.
The team spirit is what really brings me down. This club is becoming the new L.A Clippers, or so it seems.
BTW, how many years are left in Sam's contract?

I think the early 00 ers Clippers not the Clippers that could'nt draft, with a few additions here & there and more good drafting in 07 we will be a good teaam like the current Clippers.

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
this is a tough part of the season for most teams, i don't blame anyone for thinking ahead. it's especially tough for us, given the way we've played lately, but i'm sure there are a few ups and downs to go before 05-06 goes in the books. another upswing's on the way, i'm sure, followed by another slump, etc., but the way we're playing now is certainly "bad". among the worst.
toughest part of the season for me.
peace

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
I'm focussed on the trade deadline right now. Hoping the Raps can swing something.
We need to get the right Vet in here this summer along with another young wing or two.
I think trades will be more important to our future than anything. The draft won't help us next year.

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
the thing is, i dont see how we can keep drafting big men. i mean, say we draft splitter/aldridge. that means we'd have bosh, bonner, villa, sow, araujo, splitter/aldridge, all playing for 2 positions. thats 6 players for 2 positions, and i kno some ppl might think villa and bonner could b 3's in this league, but right now i think we have more big men than we need...juss not the right ones.

Re: Am I the only one who is already looking forward to next season?
I'll tell you what I'm looking forward to, March Maddness / more NCAA coverage in Canada.
For scouting we're entering into the best part of the season. After the SuperBowl, basketball airtime sky-rockets, especially college hoops.
Other then the Euro's I've seen everyone else in the "top 5" play a couple of times (this year). But I look forward to watching many more play.
It sure is a tough time to get excited about Raptors basketball, my g/f didn't have to fight me to watch Lost last night....Charlie's a dick.

I do like watching the rooks and Bosh. But
My priorities are:
1) the February trade deadline. Can we bolster our youth, add capspace, additional pick etc?
2) The Draft. We should be able to add one solid contributor.
3) Watching and hoping Carmelo Anthony will break his big toe and be out for the season. That ******* is on fire right now.
4) March Madness will be wicked too.

I like watching the young guys. I don't care about anyone else, and I'd rather we lose right now.
Sad..
