It appears that your rebuilding last 12 years (just kidding)
So adding Peja to the Raptors would destroy your "rebuilding".....OK
In my opinion, that Raptors team with that "rebuilding" is going nowhere and the Raptors owners are familiar with that (by firing Babcock), so adding Pedja would not hurt you for sure

Okay, and how would that rebuilding go nowhere? They just blew up their team last year, so it's no surprise that the Raptors are not a 500 team right now.
To me at least, the Raptors have a solid group of players to start from. First Chris Bosh, surrounded by Mo Pete, Charlie Villanueva and Mike James. Then around that you got two young rookies who are definately NBA calibur players in this league, Calderon and Graham. Once this team gets some cap room, they'll be able to add some peices of the puzzle to make this a playoff contending team again.
Why would we want Peja? He is exactly the type of player that the Raptors are trying to get away from right now. The Raptors take too many jumpers as it is, and defense is their weak point. Peja wouldn't address anyone of these issues.

offence is the best defense
possible squad:
C Magloire ?
PF Bosh
SF Stojakovic
SG Peterson
PG James
Bench:
C Sow
C Araujo
PF Villanueva
PF Bonner
SF Graham
PG Calderon
+ Serbian fans
I don't see the problem

Kind of hard to agree with that when many other people often say that defence is the best offence.

we need a highflyer/slasher to get to the rim, and not only kick it like James, but slam it in their faces with so much authority, chuck swirsky runs out of words and has a stroke.
we also need someone to risk breaking their arm on every single play to grab boards, like JYD. im pretty sure that guy went home to his wife and she discovered bruises on his dick from random outbursts of jumping into random seats, camera men, reporters, players, referees, fans, mascots and miscellaneous areas such as the advertisments and net posts.

I guess I'm the only Peja supporter here. I'd love to see him in a Raps uniform, but at what price though?
I think Peja stayin in Indy would be the best. I'd hate to see him go to the bulls.

Re: If the Raptors somehow created significant caproom this year....
How old will be Peja be? 29, 30? His game does not necessarily rely on athleticism as much as others so the way people talk about him, it seems as if he were 34. On the flip side, he has had injury concerns recently, I'd be careful if I were the Raptors. There should be better options, especially if Peja is asking for a grip of money.

Peja said he might go back to Sacramento since that is home to him, and if the raps pursue him, we do have a pretty large croatian community. But I don't see the benefit of raps trying to get Peja since Raps problem is not scoring but more defensive players and hard nose players

There was an article in the Sacremento Bee that said that Peja would take less money to stay with the Kings.

Re: If the Raptors somehow created significant caproom this year....
My problem with Peja is his production has dropped precipitously over the last two years. He went from 24.2 ppg on 48% shooting two years ago, to 20.2 ppg on 44% shooting last year, to 16.5 ppg on 40% shooting this year. If he can't score efficiently he doesn't bring much else to the table.

i thought the saying was, defense is the best offense, like in football, where coaches preach that "THE DEFENSIVE UNIT WINS GAMES"....which 100% true, forget the saying...
