In case you guys haven't noticed, the Raptors still have a front office, which will encourage Sam Mitchell to continue the youth movement. If not, fire him and let Jim Todd take over. How likely is it that we'll see him next year anyways?

^ I don't think vig was implying that the vets will leave the rookies dry on minutes, moreso that they'll be getting alot more minutes than previous.

It'll be a compromise, no doubt. The front office will still want the rooks to be played, but Sam's going to be looking for wins to save his arse - the vets will help him more with that.

"I don't really look at guys and memorize players, but (Bosh) is very impressive. He can shoot, he has an inside game, physical at times, he's pretty good...he's more than holding his own." - Shaq

"I really like him...to me he's already pretty special," Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki said after continually getting beat to the basket by Bosh. "He's going to be a great player in this league."

"Chris Bosh really has emerged to be a star in this league. There are more than the top three (in the 2003 draft)." - Dwyane Wade

I love everything about him, I love his game, I love his work ethic. He definitely has my approval - Kobe Bryant"

Generally play the vets over the rookies, but ensure the rooks get enough minutes to keep the powers that be happy.

All in all, I don't think it's ideal. Yet another negative from this whole Babcock fiasco.
he has been doing that for couple of weeks now around the middle of raptors 5 game win streak

Re: How will this effect Sam's coaching

this would only make sense if we gave sam carte blanche, as well as a guarantee that he wouldn't lose his job with the new gm. otherwise, leaving him on the bench right now is unprofessional. he's gonna coach the rest of the year? for what? we're not playing for anything anymore, so would he really be coaching to "develop the young players"? other than pride, i don't know if there's anything else to play for. why wouldn't he just leave now?

he must have either some security from the board or a helluva lot of love for his players. i don't know many people who could go on teaching, knowing full well that a new teacher is on the way and the students would use a new textbook with him.

to be honest, don't know many students who would even listen to him anymore.

peace

He still has a philosophy to follow. You don't want a rep of not going along with the company. he will listen to Wayne and keep playing the kids. The vets will get time until the deadline passes so we can show they are not all dead yet. They will be looking to flip everyone 29 and older. So the vets are going to play.

Re: How will this effect Sam's coaching

Anyone listen to the fan about 45 minutes ago, after some Greek guy was talking about Tennis? I was the next person to talk.

Basically I said Peddie is a hyprocite because he was talking about hoe he wanted stability within the organization, but 18 months later Babcock gets fired. Also, this puts Mitchell's future up in the air, and it's going to be really hard for him to do a good job now with still another 40 games to go in the season.
