Nowhere to go but down
I don't really have a point other than that I wanted to rant, but this team in all likelihood is going to get worse next year. For the second year in a row, a key scorer on the team is going to leave to free agency (last year Marshall, this year James). And then a year after that, assuming he hasn't been traded yet, Rose is gone. Sure, we've got some good young guys, but the team's reputation is in tatters, no free agents are going to want to come year unless they are vastly overpaid. Arggh!

Don't go so fast. Wait till the deadline is over at least, then maybe the draft.

Bottoming out next year isn't all bad. That's Oden's draft class.

Re: Nowhere to go but down
good, i hope they're worse next yr so we can get as high pick as possible in the very stacked 07 draft...07 offseason is gonna be the most important one in raps history as in all likelyhood, this is where we're gonna get our 2nd star (via the draft) and a very important complementary piece via fa.

Wow.... just wow. So you have absaloutely no confidence in our young players (C.V., Graham, Jose, Ukic, etc.)? If none of them can step up to fill a potential James/Rose void then we have a major problem. However, I'm completely confident that amongst them this team will continue to score as easily as it has since Kevin O'Neil left town. Offense isn't our problem now and it won't be in the future. Our problem is defense. You need to recheck this team's priorities.

Re: Nowhere to go but down
I hope we make a good draft pick this summer, keep James, and make the playoffs next year. Unlikely.. maybe... but I am tired of cheering for a draft pick. It's stupid.
Win in 06-07!!!

Re: Nowhere to go but down
what if James decides he wants to stay, say we win the rest of this home stand, we can finish better than last year perhaps.
If we can win the next 2 home games we would be 18-30, a average February and strong March & April we can be 40-42.
Yea I know thats a huge strech but with recent play of Sow at C & emergence of mo Pete as a leader, continuing development from Jose, CV31 Grahem and this team shall be better.

rose leaving is a good thing - he has been terrible all season with the exception of a a dozen games or so and even in those he has be lit up defensively. Loosing Mike James for nothing would hurt but what will make this team better is interior defense and rebounding James and Rose do not provide any of that.

Re: Nowhere to go but down
I don't think next year's team will be that much worse, probably not too much better, but to be worse would be a challenge.

Well put.
Man, with all the hype on Oden, if he can end up in Toronto?
I gotta stop my hands from invading my pants.

You'll never know man. But, don't start to lose faith in this team yet. We have a bright future.
And, we have no where to go but up.
