Re: You know what would be sweet? For the raps future...
i guess i'll use this thread to bring up something i was thinking about: how does roko really fit with us anymore? i've never seen him play- never- but with the way things are going, with the things we're doing, i find it hard to imagine any jason williams-like european leading our team on the floor. honestly, with our two first-rounders this year and our free agent to come in '07 (at the latest), are we really going to be in a position to develop a young floor general at a time when we're planning to compete at a higher level?
i'm not saying we won't, i just find it increasingly harder to believe that we will. it totally depends on our draft picks, no doubt (i.e. freshmen versus blue devil seniors)- we might not be on the doorstep of domination by '07 even with those assets- but i think that chance is relatively slim. i personally expect us to get an established young gun in june, maybe two, and that'll accelerate the plan the way i outlined above.
i just don't know how he fits in there. i'm speculating with the best here- i haven't even seen roko on the court- but hell, might as well.
peace

Looks like you get part of your wish tonight, as Charlie is starting in place for Jalen.

If Chris Paul can help make David West an 18 7 player, he'd prolly help Bosh acheive an MVP season, lol!

Makes it really nice that he won't even take a chunk out of our cap room next summer. We can simply wait and sign him for a portion of the MLE after another year of experience with one of the best team in Europe. He might be ready to go right now but he's not going to be a bad backup, even as a rookie in 2007.

Trick - if you think Portland would have taken the 7th and 16th for the 3rd pick you are absolutely insane. This is not the NFL - in the NBA, the value of a draft pick drops very steeply as you do down the draft. Especially in a poor draft year like last year. We got two projects at 7 and 16 - Chris Paul was pretty close to a sure thing. 2 projects does not equal one sure thing.

You do know that portland traded their 3rd pick for the 6th pick and 27th pick, what's the difference between 6th and 7th?

As insane as, oh I don't know, trading that same pick for a 6th pick and 27th pick? Because that's exactly Utah got that 3rd pick from Portland.
If you call me insane, I wonder what you'd call John Nash...
